Well... I was just sitting in my usual spot, in front of the computer, when I thought to myself 'I'm sick of waiting, I want my tongue done today!'. I'd seen people with their tongue pierced all over, it seems to be quite a popular place. I think it looks lovely, and always asked my big sister numerous questions about it. She often got annoyed, oops :P! My mother's been off the idea of any more piercings other than my ears, nose and belly... BUT I managed to persuade her!!

My dad finished his cup of coffee and took me down to the Bronzing Studio! (I normally go to Mind, Body and Spirit... But she doesn't pierce tongues!). We picked up my best mate on the way there, as I knew she wanted her top ear done. I walked into the room and by this point you could see my hand shaking frantically... I was so scared!! However, I'd wanted it done for ages, I wasn't going to back out now!
I told the woman behind the counter what I wanted done, and she handed my dad a form to fill out. She was nice, she reassured me that it wasn't a bad piercing, and that calmed me down a little. A man was ready and he took me into a little room and sat me down on a bed that made me think me of a dentist's. He got a pair of clamps and looked at my tongue, he warned me that the web of my tongue was quite forward, so he would have to pierce it slightly off to the side. But I didn't care, a tongue piercing is a tongue piercing to me!!
He got a needle ready, I don't know how long it was, I had my eyes tight shut! My Dad said it was roughly 4 cm long though. He told me to take a big breath in, I felt him put the needle up against the underneath of my tongue, but apart from that I didn't feel it at all! Some of my friends had said before I went in that I would feel it ripping... I suppose it's different for everybody!
So now my tongue was pierced! It felt cool to finally have my tongue done, but he wasn't finished yet. He left my tongue hanging out whilst he got the bottom ball ready!! My Dad was howling at me, he said my face was a picture! He screwed the ball on and told me I was done. It was fine at first, but I couldn't eat.
The next morning is the worst agony in the world, and it swells up to at least an inch bigger than usual!! I couldn't stop looking at it in the mirror, the bar was just a bit too small for the swelling, which left a little indentation on the top of my tongue. I found eating a real problem, but I managed to down a few yogurts! I would also recommend lots of ice cream, it's good excuse to cuddle up in front of the TV with a whole tub :). I also spoke like a complete weirdo, I often got laughed at whilst at work!!
I took it out for the first time after about 2 weeks. It was hard work screwing the ball off, he put it on really tight!! I pulled it out from the bottom, and was surprised when I couldn't feel it at all. I cleaned it with hot salty water and noticed puss came dribbling out from the top... It was a bit disgusting, but what did I expect? I'd just had a hole put through it!! I tried to put it back in from the bottom to top, it got stuck in many places, so I tried top to bottom. It went in no problem, but I felt a slight nip at the bottom where I missed the hole. I was glad I had got it out and back in for the first time!
It's been about a month now, and I've got a proper metal bar in... but whenever I take it out to clean it, puss comes oozing out and there's a little lump next to the bar underneath. It sometimes causes sharp pains to go through the underneath of my tongue. I'm going to leave it for a little while and see how it goes, but I hope I don't have to take it out!
Oh and another thing, it's quite annoying if you do sports though! I do karate, I train 5 times a week... And when I train I often get a dry mouth and I've noticed that the top ball of my bar gets stuck to the top of my mouth!!! It's very annoying, I have to keep pulling it off... literally!
Anyway! It's so awesome to play with and I would recommend anyone who is thinking about getting it done to go and do it... NOW!! :) ... Just want to say thanks to the man who pierced it at the Bronzing Studio, I'm very pleased with it! Next piercing: My cleavage, can't wait!!
