MY FIRST PIERCING

Hi,

I don't really know where to begin so I will start by introducing myself, My name is Tiffany I live in Australia and I am 18yrs old, I hope this will give you some insight on how my first piercing experience was. This is my story!

On the week's leading up to my 16th Birthday I wouldn't stop reminding my mom that she promised that when I turned 16 I could have my tongue pierced.

My birthday came and went, 3 day's after we went to The Piercing Shop < (Actual name of store.) it was on the first level in the shopping centre. I remember the look on my mothers face while we sat in the waiting room for the lady to call my name she looked nervous more so then me.

We went in to the room Kimmy (the lady who did my piercing) followed soon after, then her assistant came into the room I had know idea what I was getting myself into, they explained everything to my mother and I before they started.

I will now start by explaining my experience and how it felt; I am warning you now so if you wish to read on you are prepared.

They proceeded with explaining, She then began, The clamp placed on my tongue held tight on my tongue I could hear the clicking of the clamp as it got tighter and tighter I start to feel the difference in my mouth my tongue slowly going numb as the blood was being cut off form the surrounding area, now all I could feel was the clamp on the outer parts of my tongue and lips, Kimmy asks if I could feel anything as she touches the area I reply with a hand jester to let her know that all is good, she tells me that she is about to go ahead with the piercing of my tongue and to stay as relaxed as possible she says you may feel a slight pinching sensation as I insert the needle.
She proceeds, and I can feel the needle on the inside of my tongue, I so wanted to clench my mouth shut, it is now over the needle is out she inserts the bar it's in the ball goes on it is now over.

As I rinse out my mouth I can feel the ball touching the roof of my mouth it was strange, I go out to the counter she tells me how to take care of it and passes me some information on the health and cleaning of my new piercing, and that in around two week's came back and get it down sized free of charge.

Taking Care of Your Piercing

Your piercing is susceptible to infection while it is healing. It is extremely important to take care of your new piercing in order for it to heal properly and to try and prevent any infection.
When you get your tongue pierced, you have to use mouthwash, and try to avoid alcohol and hot spicy food until it is properly healed.
Your tongue piercing will heal in approximately 3 to 4 weeks (may take longer if not taken care of correctly). And you must keep it as clean as possible use an antiseptic or medicated mouthwash up to 2 or 3 times a day. You should try and avoid any type of oral contact or sexualised activity of the mouth for a few weeks.

Payment

I payed her there is a deal at this piercing shop that if you came in on a weekday between 10:00am and 12:00pm you got 50% off total cost of your bar and the cost of the piercing so all up, also with some medicated mouth wash it only costed me $44.80 much cheaper then it would have been if we didn't get there within the time frame.

The prices of this particular store have now since changed as of just over 2 years ago.

All prices and services will be different from store to store.

Information on the Downsizing of Your Bar

For those of you reading this who haven't had there tongue pierced you start off with a large bar to account for any major swelling in the day ahead as the swelling goes down the bar becomes to large to stay in your mouth comfortably and then you go back and get what they call the down size bar mine was free but depending on where you go and get it done and there policy you may have to buy your new down size bar.

The Day's Following

After I had my tongue pierced for the next few days's I found it hard to talk, eat and even drink and when I was able to it sort of felt a little strange since there was a foreign object in my mouth now.
My fiends at school said that they didn't believe that I would get it done; when I got to school they were all beside themselves because the said I would get it done and I did.
One of my friends had already had it done and she asked me if it felt funny to talk, eat, drink and also spit. (strange) But the thing is it did everything felt different I felt different.

Well thank you for reading My First Piercing I hope I may have helped someone with there decision and with the information I provided with my story.

Thanks a bunch xxoo
