So, I am not even going to lie and say I have wanted to get this done for years or what not...I actually used to think it was a nasty piercing. I was so afraid that if I got it, I would break my teeth or hurt my mouth, but after actually researching it, I realized if you are careful and take care of it, you will be fine. I think my previous thoughts of this piercing were from my mom, who, if she knew I had this one, would kill me.

I was really upset thinking that I had pierced all that I wanted to get pierced, and not to sound weird, but I like that whole piercing experience. The whole high you get from the adrenaline, and the nerves that are quickly settled after the piercing.
So, to get on with my story, this guy I work with had his tongue done, and after working with him for like a month, I decided I was just in love with it. So about 2 weeks ago, I started seriously thinking about getting it done. I started doing the whole researching process, making sure it was truely what I wanted.
So, this past week, I decided I was going to get it done on Friday, since I had that day, and Saturday off too, because I heard the day after you get it done is the worst, and after that it slowly begins to get better. So last night, I met one of my friends in Bessemer, and we drove around looking for this piercing studio. I guess I should mention that I had been previously told about this piercing studio by a friend at work. He just went on and on about it, so I decided to take his word for it.
When we arrived, my first impression of this place was that it was very clean and sterile, and it did not give off any bad vibes or anything, so I decided to go ahead and get it done. They did that whole typical filling out of the forms and then it was time for me to go back. Now here is where I was a little annoyed. The piercer was not very friendly and didn't even like talk to me at all, just like grunts. Not that he was mean...just I am used to piercers talking to you to try to calm your nerves. But with him not talking, it did cut down on the actual time I had to stay at the studio, which in my case last night, was a good thing, cause I had things to do.
He then has me stick out my tongue as far as it will go, he wipes it off, and marks the spot. Then the clamps came, and he checked to make sure I could have the piercing and that the dot was placed right. Then all the sudden, without warning, he pierced me. But it was not bad at all. I was more like, your done...really? All I felt was alot of pressure, not even bad pressure, and then I felt the needle pop out the bottom. And when I say pop, I mean it, you feel it pop, but again it does not hurt at all. The worst part was him inserting the jewelry. And even that was awful. The only real complaint I have is that I did not get to pick out the jewelry that was used. I had to get a standard metal ball, and I was hoping for a pink one, so it would be easier to hide.
I guess I am lucky, cause so far I have experienced like no swelling, and hardly any pain. It is just like annoying at the moment, and I am finding eating, even none solid foods hard. But I am sure, that with time I will get the hang of it. Now I am just having to hide this from my mom until it heals, so when we fight about it, it wont hurt so bad. Because it does kind of hurt when you start talking alot.
I will recommend this studio, but only to people that do not need to be comforted by the piercer before their piercing. Also, I saw samples of the guy who tattoos, work, and all I can say is talent. So I also recommend this studio for tattoos too.I am also going to def. recommend this piercing to whom ever wants it. It does not hurt to be pierced, and only is kind of annoying after the process. But in the long run, this piercing is going to be kick ass.
