Well, I'd wanted my tongue done since I was about 13 I think and I saw a woman on an advert that looked really good. I asked my mum about it and she said no straight away without even considering what I thought. Then when I got to 15, one of my best friends got it done and it just made me want it done even more.

So I talked about it again with my mum and I did all my research and everything and showed her everything and she still said no. we had a lot of arguments about it and she still didn't give in she just pissed me off even more. So because she wouldn't let me get it done I rebelled instead and decided that when I was 16, I would be allowed and she didn't get a say in it so I would just go ahead and get it done.

My 16th birthday came and went and I was out shopping with her when I just turned round and said oh by the way I'm 16 now so I can get my tongue pierced and she just sort of said ewww you're disgusting, but in a joking kind of way so I thought fair enough she knows now and I don't have anything to worry about. So I planned it for the weekend after my birthday, I stayed at my friends house the night before and I went into town. I'd researched this place on the internet but when it came to it I couldn't find it so I just went in this place that I came across. It was a little tiny place and it didn't look to great but I wanted it done that much I thought I'd risk it.

So I get in there and the woman that's sat at the bottom checked my ID and everything and says that the piercer wouldn't be back for half an hour but she'd check my tongue for veins. She checked and then she turned around and said I couldn't get it done because I had a vein running up the left and right hand sides where they'd normally do it so I couldn't have it done. she said I should come back in 7 weeks and not to worry because it took the guy who does the piercings 5 years for him to get his done. I came out the room and I was nearly crying, after wanting something for so long and then being told you couldn't have it, I was gutted.

My mum rung my friends mobile to see if I'd gone through with it and I told her I hadn't and she just laughed down the phone at me, so I hung-up on her and ignored her for the next 2 hours.

I don't know what made me look on the internet but I did and I heard about this place called 'Holier Than Thou' that could move veins so I got my hopes up again, and instead of choosing to go at the weekend so I could have a day to recover I decided to go on the Tuesday so I could just get it done.

Me and my 2 friends went on the Tuesday after school and I proper had it in my head where we was going, we went the way I thought was right and it just clearly wasn't we ended up on the main road in the middle of nowhere so 1 of my mates went in a shop and asked if they'd heard of it and they hadn't but they said they new of one on the street where holier than thou was. Thing was, I'd seen that street earlier on and not said anything because I was convinced it would turn out to be the same place as I'd tried on the Saturday.

Anyway, we went down some streets and we came out of an alleyway and it was just there. Up to that point I hadn't been nervous at all but all of a sudden it just it me and I couldn't walk properly, I got there in the end though. We walked in and I just told the guy behind the counter I wanted my tongue pierced, he got the forms ready and told me to read through them and then I had to sign them, my hand was really shaking and my signature went funny. Kate (I think it was, the piercer) came out of the room and she had loads of piercings on her face I didn't expect it, but I think it looked good, checked my forms and my medical history and told me to go through. My 2 friends argued about who was going to come in the room with me and in the end decided. Kate got all the stuff out of the packets like the needle and the bar and everything while she was talking to me and she turned round and said I had nothing to worry about because it didn't hurt, I was under the impression they used numbing stuff but when I asked her she said no. that's when I started to panic and question whether I wanted it done or not, but I talked my self into doing it because I'd wanted it done for so long and couldn't back out now. So anyway Kate drew on my tongue where she was going to do it and we agreed it was good, she put the clamps on my tongue and started to line it up, that's when I heard the door close, my mate had walked out because she thought she was going to faint lol. So I was on me own. People say that the clamps hurt, but I didn't feel a thing and it wasn't uncomfortable either and I didn't drool, at all. So anyway Kate just turned around to me and said right I'm going to do it now, do u want to shut you eyes, so I did and next thing I feel a sharp pain in the bottom of my tongue that lasted half second and I opened my eyes and she fiddled around for a minute putting the bar in. I could honestly say that biting my tongue would have hurt more. I carefully put my tongue in my mouth and the bar seemed a lot bigger than what it was. I was shocked as to how it hardly hurt, anywhere near what I expected it to and I was really excited because I'd finally had it done. I got home and showed my mum and she was pretty good about it.

The next day it swelled up and I didn't realise how bad it did swell up until it started to go down.

It went kind of white but I think that was because I was slightly dehydrated and I got a blister right in front of it so that was a bit sore but apart from that I had no major problems with it.

I was told I should eat soft foods and soups and stuff but I ate normal, it just took me longer. The morning after it took me 2 hours to eat a bagel but after that I just improved really fast and now I can eat pretty much back to normal, but just a bit slower than everyone else and only on one side. The girl who had it done before me who I don't get on with anymore was going on laughing at me saying I wouldn't be able to eat anything for days I was like clearly I have been eating thought so what are you on about. She was the one that told me it hurt as well, the pussy.

So my advice for anyone is, if you get let down once, don't give up, try somewhere else, because chances are the previous studio isn't very good. Kate said the woman was chatting shit about my veins because I was all clear and even if I did have veins she could have massaged my tongue and moved them anyways.

I'll be happy to answer any questions anyone has so feel free to email me.
