Well, it all started just about a year ago when I decided to get my tongue pierced.

I wanted it so badly! I had been begging my mother for about a month to go and take me, so, finally she called a couple places for me. Sooner or later we found one, down in Seattle called, Golden Body Rings.
About a week or 2 later after we made the appointment, I go down there. Harder than I thought to find this place, I ended up being late to my appointment, ugh.
Eventually I walk in there, incredibly clean and a lot of body mod magazines and books about African piercings. There was also a bunch of African piercing supplies and bars, barbells, rings, gauges, all that fun stuff.
A couple minutes later he arrives, coming up the stairs in the back hallway, a little creepy looking. Sees me and proceeds to talk to me about what I would like. I told him, just a regular tongue piercing, nothing too special.
He shows me where his sink is and told me to go wash my mouth out with some listerine. It made my mouth all numb and really fresh!
Soon, I lay down on this counter/bench thing whatever it was. He asked me to sit up and stick my tongue out as far as I could, I did and might I add, it wasn't very far. Well, he seemed just extremely educated this whole time. He puts the clamps on my tongue and believe me the clamps were more painful than the piercing. They were really cold, and kind of pinched...a little. Then he started to make jokes about my tongue and well, me, hahaha.
He asked me to look up at the ceiling where there was a picture of a sun or some shit. And about 5 seconds later he was done. Hardly felt it. Obviously I did, but it was NOT painful! Don't trust anyone when they don't have it and say it's going to hurt like no other, because it doesn't. Though, it is really fucking shocking.
Personally I was having trouble putting my tongue back in my mouth, it was just so heavy and felt so weird.
Then I went over, looked in the mirror and instantly fell in love. He told me to clean it with listerine each day at least twice a day and what were the proper things to eat, like ice cream, soft things, not like cookies or chips and not to have a straw. He also gave me a card and put a stamp on it and that meant that I could come back in about 6 weeks and get a free tongue ring, but I had to have the card with me of course.
In the car on my way home, I tried to talk, was not successful, and bought a milk shake. It wasn't that easy to eat, I had to use a spoon and just kind of place the milk shake part on my tongue.
I got home and my brother, who also has his tongue pierced, started making fun of me because I couldn't say "Sally sold sea shells by the sea shore." I didn't care, I was just happy with my new piercing.
But the thing I failed to think about was that school was in a week and I could not talk very well. So I pretty much had to explain to my teachers why I was talking funny... yeah, could have gone better...
Oh, also!! It will take about 4 weeks for you to talk normally, well, almost and about 4 weeks as well for you to actually eat. Not necessarily the foods you want to eat like chips, cookies, candy, drinking from straws but it is easier to eat...
But I also had another problem on hand, my dad didn't know I got it done, and he didn't find out for about 4 weeks. Some of you may ask, "how did he not find out!?" well I really don't know... but by then my lisps was gone and I could basically talk normally. And well, he wasn't too happy about what I had in my mouth. He's used to it now and I have more piercings that he's not too happy about, oh well I suppose, I like them.
I completely recommend this piercing! Everyone I see gets all excited and has to talk to me about it. Yeah, the questions get old because it's always "Did that hurt!?! Oh my god, when did you get that?!..." But its fun, you can play with it, I can almost whistle through it and its just way sexy. If you decide to get any piercing at all, go for your tongue, you will be so happy with it with no regrets.
