When I was 16 I went and got my tongue pierced without my mommy's permission and after a week she made me take it out! I was so pissed but I vowed that when I turned 18 I would get it again. So fast forward to Oct. 11th, 2006 my big sister and I decided I would go and get it pierced again. Yay! I was so excited but scared out of my mind at the same time. Because I had been hearing when you get it pierced again it hurts more because of scar tissue. Well I didn't care I just wanted my hole back.

A couple of days before I went to get pierced I went with a friend to Electric Body Art so she could get her tongue pierced and I LOVED the piercer and the atmosphere. Not to mention the tongue piercing would only cost me $20!!! Anyways the guys name was Tattoo Richie and he was cool as hell. Big gauged ears and tattoos everywhere. His attitude was cool and he answered all of our questions. So I told him I'd be coming back to get mine.
We went back and 2 days later and when we got there he was tattooing so I had to wait a bit. While waiting I filled out the forms gave the front desk girl my i.d. and looked around. Finally after about 10 minutes he told me to come back to the piercing room.
As he was setting up my sister looked at me and asked was I really going to do it again..and I said Hell yes! I watched him get out everything from a new package and after he finished he washed his hands and put on new gloves. He loaded his hand with vaseline for the needle and told me to swish with Listerine for a bit. After doing that he told me to stick out my tongue( I have a pretty long one!) so he agreed I could get it pierced again.
He told me to stick out my tongue again and he marked my tongue with the little purple pen. After that he told me to stick it as far as I could and don't let it go back in. He placed a paper towel underneath my tongue(for drool) and then he proceeded to put on the clamps. At this point I was so scared that I was shaking. He told me to listen and don't grab him or anything because he knew I was scared! He put the needle in the vaseline said "O im not going to do it yet" and that was lie I guess it worked a little because my nerves settled but at that time I felt him starting to put the needle through, he started from the top to bottom. Now when people told me oh it won't hurt or it hurts like hell I didn't know which to believe. But after this I will tell you this for me it hurt soo much worse than before I mean it was painful and I think I even moaned a few times ( later my sis told me I had the craziest face on ever). When he put the barbell in it hurt just a bit and when he screwed on the ball it wasn't too bad. I was done though and that was all that mattered I had gotten it back!!
I went to the front to pay and bought some H2ocean mouthwash stuff and got my aftercare card from the guy. I was told no oral sex,no kissing, no spicy foods, and wash it 2 times a day and after every meal. He also told me to try and treat my mouth the same because this would help healing. As I left I felt so bad and so cool! I got in the car took some Aleve and sucked ice like no tomorrow. I sucked ice that whole day and on day 2 when I woke up my tongue was soo swollen and it was hurting really bad. So on my way to class I had ice and water and it stopped after about 10 minutes.
I use my mouthwash after anything I eat and in the morning and before bed. My swelling wasn't too bad but the barbell is not visible yet and the top ball has made an indention in my tongue. On the 2nd day I ate chicken fingers and potato skins so eating hasn't been much of a problem.
DAY 3: Last night I had black bean soup and some bowtie pasta, I ate it easily and washed my mouth out afterwards. I took 2 Aleve before I went to bed and it really helped. When i woke up this morning it was really sore but i took more Aleve and it feels a whole bunch better. It even feels like the swelling may have gone down a bit. It is still sore around the balls but i'll manage. Hopefully in a couple of days it will be fine and i'll have no more soreness. I haven't had any lymph or secretions so far and thats great!
This piercing is going great so far and I'm so glad I got it again. I wouldn't get it again if I take this one out but hey that ain't happening!! ny questions please ask! I recommend this piercing to anyone it's quick, easy, and fun. Tattoos and a nostril piercing next!
