Pointless but pretty damn sexy...

Hey,

Ever since I got my navel pierced I had developed a rather cool addiction to piercings. I don't know what it was, might of been the tender feeling afterwards or the fact that you were one piercing nearer to being in that group that was known as "freaks" by the people of everyday society. Either way this time last year I knew I was getting that same old craving, i'd already had a nipples, navel, nose, tragus, anti-tragus, helix and rook piercing, but as I'm in a job and have parents who aren't too keen on Body mods I knew I would have to find something different yet well hidden.

Oneday I came across the tongue web piercings on BME, most stories told of how painless and easy it was to do on your own and how hidden it was. Sounded perfect. So, the next day sorted out my needle and barbell. I sat before the mirror and attempted to grab the web and puncture it with needle. No such luck, my mouth was drowning in saliva and I was finding it hard to position the needle correctly. That idea soon went down the drain and I started to forget about it.

A few weeks on I was in Dr. Feelgoods getting my 2nd nipple pierced, I had to wait so I decided to ask about the tongue web. Claire, one of the body piercers hadn't heard of it but was willing to try something new, I said i'd get back to her on that one. The more I thought about it the more I realised that I did want it done but not enough to pay £30 for when the risk of it migrating was very high. So, went home once again trying to push it to the back of my mind.

One evening i'd had enough, I was reading the stories on BME and stumbled across the tongue web again, I decided that I was going to do it there and then. I sorted out my stuff that i'd prepared weeks before and sat down and attempted to push the needle through, I had sucked my tongue to the roof of my mouth, resulting in easier access. "Bingo" I thought as the needle slid through the web easily, the stories had spoken truely, there was no pain. I smiled and admired the view in the mirror, which at the time wasn't very attractive with a needle poking out of my gob and saliva dripping down my chin. Now was time for the supposedly hard bit, replacing the needle with my funky barbell I had put aside for this occasion. After many tries I still couldn't get the barbell in, before long my happiness was being replaced with frustration, my fingers were too big to put in my mouth, therefore making it hard for both the needle to come out and the jewellery in at the same time without loosing the hole. It was then that I had a brainwave, I grabbed the nail clippers from nearby and used them to grip the barbell firmly. Great, I could now get both the jewellery in and my fingers in my mouth ready to manouvere. Now it was in, yay! After another frustrating 5 mins I had the ball on and was sporting a rather snazzy tongue web piercing, a bit tender albeit from the handling but that was expected after having a needle shoved through! I went to bed that night a very happy woman.

Eating wasn't a problem after the first few attempts at getting it right and my speech was perfect. I got into the habit of twirling it around in my teeth which did result in people seeing it, some were disgusted and some were surprised you could even get a piercing there. After a couple of days I switched the bar for a minute BCR ring which was more comfortable and looked a lot more sexier! I had it for a few months, my parents didn't see it which was great and it didn't even start to migrate. However it did start to get tender after playing with it for a while and I decided to retire the piercing much to my dismay. It took a while to get used to, a mouth without a piercing but that soon subsided.

Since then i've had it in a couple more times, each time a teeny bit more painful than the last, must of been the scar tissue that's accumulated. It's a must have piercing and an easy one at that! Just writing about it makes me tempted to get my stuff out and do it again. However even I must admit that it is pretty much a pointless piercing with no benefits whatsoever.

I'm not trying to encourage DIY piercing, so if you do decide to do it, please go to a reputable shop but I suppose I can't stop you if you've decided to do it yourself so feel free to email me for any questions, i'll be more than happy to help.
