Let me start off by saying that before this occurrence, I already had 17 piercings, as well as a retired navel ring, and I know that my body is pretty strong (I've had three piercings at a time before as well) so I knew I wouldn't pass out or really have any negative effects of getting so many piercings at the same time. The positive effects however, included discounted price, as Julia knows I am a very loyal customer, and have gotten almost all of my piercings from her. Also, I have to get my piercings in Edmonton whenever I visit (which is often), because I live in Victoria BC, and the age for piercings and tattoos there is eighteen, as opposed to sixteen for piercings here and eighteen for tattoos.

I decided I wanted to get six piercings after finishing a social written exam, and had spare paper, began doodling and made a list of piercings I would want, that my dad wouldn't see, because even though I don't live with him, he doesn't want Daddy's Little Girl shoving metal through parts of her body. I love him, but he is over protective... He means well though.

The morning started off at my best friend Brett's house, where we woke up, cleaned his house, talked about how excited we were to get pierced, and ate breakfast so neither of us would pass out during our piercings. We then visited a friend to see if she wanted to join us, but she could not because she had to study, and her dad didn't want her to go out. So, we went off to Strange City on Whyte Ave for Brett to get his lip done. Sitting in the waiting room, the itch to get pierced hit me hard, and I wanted to get all my piercings at Strange City that instant, but restrained myself because my piercer, Julia, is amazing and I don't like going to other people.

Brett being finished, we headed to the mall, blasting music on the radio off his iPod and marveling at how Brett's lip hadn't swollen at all. We parked, and went into the mall, to Orchid, my preferred piercing spot. My piercer had just stepped out, so we looked at tapers and whatnot for our ears while we waited.

Julia already knew what I wanted, and she arrived soon after. I filled in the consent form, showed ID, the usual routine (I'm just glad I didn't have to fill the form out six times!) and headed into the piercing room. A good thing about Orchid is you are allowed to bring a person in with you to hold your hand, or watch. I handed Brett my cell phone, purse and jacket to hold, and got ready. I almost forgot to give him my cell, but then I remembered that I had actually received a call when I was getting my eyebrow done a few months ago, and didn't want that to happen... Trust me, a strange, sudden vibration on your leg when a needle is about to stab you is the last thing you want happening. Julia told me that since the tongue web hurts the least, she would do that first.

She told me to lift and stick out my tongue, which was kind of awkward because I expected to have to push my tongue back in my mouth to define the web more. Also, my tongue ring was getting in her way a little bit. She didn't tell me to breathe or anything, and just stuck the needle through my web and corked it. It didn't hurt initially. She then put in the CBR, tightened it and popped in the bead. Again, really awkward, because human mouths, I assume, are not built to have two hands in them poking around. I'm just lucky Julia is tiny! At this point it began to sting a bit, and still does (it's about an hour later) but she told me that was normal, and the stinging is minimal, the annoyance is minimal, I'm sure I would forget I had it if I wasn't so excited and happy about it!

I looked at it in the mirror, and absolutely adored it. I love my tongue web. I thought it would be too small to pierce, so I was pretty nervous, but I find that with all oral piercings (I only had my tongue before I got my webbing pierced), I think it's going to hurt a lot more than it does, and I whimper before the needle goes in. It makes me feel like a wimp, but the fear of pain does make the actual pain of the piercing seem lessened. My tongue web piercing looks absolutely awesome with my tongue ring, and it feels pretty cool in my mouth. I'd have to say that this is my new favorite piercing!

Aftercare involves rinsing with either the saline solution of 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt to a cup of distilled water, Tech 2000, or alcohol free mouthwash. I will be using alcohol free Oral B, as it is what I used for my tongue ring, which healed beautifully.
