About a week ago, my friend Brittni and I decided that we really wanted to get a "best friend" piercing. We didn't know what we wanted to get but we thought it would be cool to get something that was the same. It took a couple of days to decide but we eventually decided to get an off-center tongue piercing. We both had already gotten our tongues pierced in the center so we thought it would look cool to have one on the side. I already had 14 piercings at this point but I decided that one more would be a good idea. Brittni only had 8 because she isn't 18 yet so her mom has to sign for her and hasn't let her get many. Everyone that we told asked us why we would want that and we always said that we just liked the way it looked.

So right after school on Wednesday we decided to go down to Plymouth and go to Pincushion because we always got our piercings done there. While we were driving down I got really nervous. I don't really know why because I had already gotten my tongue done so I figured it would be about the same pain level. So when we got there, Dave was standing outside. We walked in and he followed in right after us. He asked us what we wanted to get done and we told him. We had to wait for her mom to get there to sign for her which sucked because we wanted to get them done right then. We didn't want the anticipation to build. At first he didn't want to do the piercings because he didn't feel comfortable doing it, but a few minutes later he said it would be okay. So he got the forms out and we had to read the care instruction to make sure we knew how to keep the piercings clean. When we were done he got the forms for us to sign and I signed mine but Brittni had to wait for her mom still. Dave made sure to tell us that it was a bad idea to get pierced there because it would be a lot thicker than a center tongue piercing but we didn't care. Her mom finally got there and he got her the same form and went through the same speech that he had given me. He picked out two ten gauge barbells and we were ready to go.
I told Brittni to go first because I was really nervous at this point. We went into the back where they do the piercings and watched him as he got ready and took out the supplies needed. They change their gloves there so much! So after he was done telling us how to take really good care of them, he marked her tongue on the right side, told her to look and make sure she liked the spot. She then laid down on the bed. He clamped her tongue and told her to take a deep breath. Then it was done! There was only a little bit of blood on her lip. It started swelling instantly. I loved it though and couldn't wait to get mine. He went through the same thing to get ready for mine. He marked the left side of my tongue and had me look at the dot. When I was done looking at the dot I laid down and he clamped my tongue. He told me to take a deep breath and when I was breathing out he stuck the needle in. It hurt really bad! Worse than my first one. I loved it though. I bled a little also but the blood wasn't too bad. He said that he had to do Brittni's a little crooked but mine went right in straight. We looked at them and they had already swelled a lot. We both had to take a minute and sit down because we got very lightheaded. Her mom got us waters so the cold would help the swelling. When we could stand up and not fell like we were gonna fall over, we left.
We had to load up on Tylenol because our tongues hurt bad the next couple of days. Mine was fine until two days later. I started to taste blood and realized that it was gushing blood and wouldn't stop. We left school early and drove back to Pincushion. They told me that it didn't hit a vein, but it was weird that it bled days later. I was really upset because I didn't want to have to take it out, but they said that I should just so I wouldn't die! It didn't stop even after the barbell was out, so the guy Nick that was working had to hold my tongue and put pressure on it for like a half an hour. Eventually it stopped bleeding and we left. Brittnis is still in and it looks amazing! I'm so jealous. I'm gonna go back and get it done on the other side. I really wish my body wasn't so stupid and didn't reject it.
