I've been a member of BME's IAM community for a while now, and a long time looker of the site. Years ago when I saw pictures of the venom piercing I fell in love but always said that I would have to wait to get my tongue pierced because mainly...I wasn't sure how it would feel, getting it pierced and maintaining the piercing itself. Metal in my mouth, that's what I thought about when I thought about piercing my tongue. To say the least, I was a bit afraid of getting it done, this may sound strange coming from someone complete with nipples and septum piercings, among others...but man, I was a scared little girl when I thought about it. To add to the reasons why I thought being cautious was best, when I want a piercing I usually put a few months to a few years of thought into it first. During this time I think really hard about how my body would look with this mod, aftercare, maintaining the piercing, possible risks and effects, concealing it...if need be...the works. I finally decided a few weeks ago that I would go for it and get my venom piercing. But then I was presented with yet another dilemma: I need a competent, clean, piercer. Well, I've ruled out a few places around where I live because of their less than reputable characteristics, practices, etc. and began to call around to places I had not been to. There were only three places that I would consider and I decided on Gil Montie's Tattoomania in Beaumont, Texas. I called them a few times asking the things that you ask when you are going to be pierced. I think I even called enough times to acquire somewhat of a nickname, either way when I would call they would say, "Hey, it's that girl that wants the venom piercing!" or "Hey, venom piercing girl is on the phone!" It was very cute I think. Turns out that I am the very first venom piercing that my piercer Dustin (Jones) has done here in Beaumont, "lots in Vegas, first one here."

Her friend Kara went too. We got lost on the way but eventually found the place. It was so much more than I had expected. I was so impressed with the wall to wall flash, high counters, jewelry case, artists...just everything. I was euphoric just to be back in a shop again. It had only been about four months since my last piercing (nipples) but it felt like forever! We walked up and IAM member xstarsfalltoox greeted us. I told him that I was "venom girl." He laughed and showed Dustin, (the piercer) to me. He asked to see my tongue and I showed it to him. He told me I would be able to get the piercing and then I asked how much it would be, "Eighty," he said. "Aww, I only have sixty," I said looking pathetic, because so much had tried to sabotage my piercing tonight and this was going to be the kicker...sadly I looked to my cousin and she handed me a twenty and told me later, "Happy graduation." I love her so much! So Dustin and I headed into the room, which was complete with leopard print piercing table. I loved it. I asked if I could pee first and he told me sure. I got back and hopped onto the table. He had been getting on his gloves, black ones...I like the black ones...and setting up his tray. He was stripping lances out of plastic packets...always a comforting sight. I just sat up there waiting anxiously, in my green Golden Times t-shirt, my favorite torn up jeans and my freshly bleached hawk. This was the first time I didn't feel like a rookie I guess, as far as being in a shop. Dustin checked out my tongue and moved it up and down and studied it some more. He marked my tongue with what looked like a stick that had purple on the end of it. He lined up the marks and I checked them out with a mirror. He very carefully got the first needle and as I felt it touch the back/bottom of my tongue and heard him say, "Big breath in," I gulped air excitedly as the "now "\Ãw€ë breathe it out" came. The feeling of that lance tearing through the muscle-y tissue of my tongue was like nothing I had ever experienced before. It was in a word euphoric, just euphoric. I never want to be rude in front of my piercer but I do get rather excited when being pierced...sexually. It's a rush and I do my best to contain it, but the feeling just exploded inside of me. I found myself thinking later that night of how much I just wanted to feel that lance through my tongue again. Well, number one was great and here came number two...(man that sounds bad). He said that he would do the second one before my body had time to react to the initial piercing. He dried the tip of my tongue off again to hold it steady and then before he could get the lance lined up properly I made an "unnnggg" sound, and he said, "Uh? Oh drool?" I felt sooo silly and nodded yes. He gave me a napkin to wipe my drool onto but I think I might of gotten him...After my drool fest was under control, he got my tongue ready for the second go and lined it up and did the whole, "deep breath, blow it out" thing. It was the best ever!!! I loved it soooo much. After I oggled myself and new piercings in the mirror, smiling like an idiot, he explained aftercare to me, telling me to steer clear of Listerine and whatnot. The feeling was unlike any I have ever had before and I would definitely consider getting another piercing in my tongue if it were possible.
After I got a picture with my piercer and talked for a minute or so...I always want to stay a bit longer and talk after I get pierced but usually feel silly...Kara had decided to get her cartilige pierced, so she paid and all that jazz and got it done but Dustin also. Boy, he really got a deal with us huh? I talked with my cousin while Kara was getting pierced, as I could actually speak at the time, and admired the place. There were signed records from the bands Cinderella and Poison, and a picture of Gil (I think) tattooing a porn star (Jenna maybe??). The walls were covered in famous names and pictures, awards and whatnot. I was impressed to say the least.
When we finally got out of there after saying our goodbyes and me telling Dustin I would most definitely be back (for more piercings and to get shorter barbells for my tongue after the swelling went down), we were on our way to get another friend to go to Wal*Mart. It was a fun night and after falling asleep later I woke up to a very very sore tongue. I took some Tylenol before I passed out and that made it feel better for a bit. Later when I got home my tongue hurt so badly that I thought I would die. I slept for about two hours before getting up and going to school. Had a good day with it beside the soreness, it outright hurts! I hadn't been able to eat much other than a few spoonfuls of grits at the Waffle House and had water all day. I got home at three and had a can of chocolate SlimFast, thinking it would be best, for the nutrients and whatnot, plus I can't possibly do any kind of food that would require chewing. I think I'll just take it easy and stick with the liquids for a bit, that and Tylenol. I hope that's okay...
I've only had minimal bleeding along with the pain, but all sooooooo worth it.
