Ok. I had my tongue web done about 3 months ago now and before i start I have to say I LOVE IT!!

I've always gone for unusual piercings, or not the ones that have become a fashion statement, so tongue-web seemed different. I looked on BME and all these other websites in order to find out information about what I was letting myself in for; most the pain factor! I wanted to know if it was going to hurt and I wanted the truth because to be honest, I'm a loser when it comes to needles but I still luuuurrve piercings -swoon- Anyway, I read loads of the stories people posted and saw pictures on the rings/bars I could use in my tongue web. It was such an unusual piercing and the fact that it was hidden made it like my own little secret piercing.

When I told my friends I wanted to get it done, they thought I was mad and told me how they thought it was going to hurt etc. So I randomly decided one day when I was in college that I would go and get it done in my lunch break. One problem. The parents. Eeeeek! My parents ::hate:: piercings and tattoos. They're dead set against me having them but I have got 9 all together because they're addictive and to be honest I dont care what the rents think. Hah. But still, I didnt want them to find out.

My friend Em came with me and she got scoffolding done. I sat with her while she had it done (which looked amazing, but apparently hurt. Ouch!) and then started talking to the woman about tongue web piercings. She said she was more than happy to do it for me and checked my tongue web to make sure it was big enough. And it was -grins- So i went through the form with her, filled everything out and paid £25. I sat in the room and my friend help my hand. The woman got this bannana spray and numbed my web. Eurgh. I HATE bannana. But not long after she sprayed it my whole mouth was numb. She clamped my web (it was the most painful part and even that was only a small pinch) and got the needle and put it through and picked up the ring to go in. I didnt even feel it. Seriously. It was strange because I was expecting it to hurt loads. She suggested I had a ring incase it got swollen and that way it had space around it. As she turned round to get the ring the needle slipped out. Damnit!! So she got a clean needle out the packet and tried again. But AGAIN it fell out. Grrrrrrr! The she got another needle and tried again. After ALOT of fiddling she got the ring in and closed it up. There was a bit of blood (only a really small amount) but i washed my mouth out and had a look in the mirror. I LOVED IT! It looked so amazing. She told me oral piercings usually healed well and quickly and if I came back in 4 weeks she'd put in a bar for me. Woooooooo!

I walked out the shop and back up to college and it felt niiiiiice! I kept playing with it with my tongue because it felt strange. All my friends were shocked I actually had it done. People's reactions vary. Some think its weird but more think its cool; but at the end of it, i'd only ever get a piercing if it was for me. Not just because everyone else has it or because i wanted to look cool. Its just for me. When the numbing spray wore off it did ache alot. But the actual piercing was nothing. For the first week it is the most annoying thing ever and I did think of taking it out. But I loved it so much that I didnt and after a couple more days it felt like it had always been there.

Unfortunately in the third week a lump formed on one side of the ring. It didnt hurt or anything but I went to my local studio and he put a bar in it with multi-coloured balls on the end. And told me to keep it clean and crush up this powder stuff and leave it under my tongue. Which I did and soon enough within 2 weeks it had gone completely!!!

So now its all healed with a funky bar in it and I luuuurve it! Its my favourite piercing and the best bit...my parents have no idea and I've had it for 3 months now. I've sat round for family dinners, talked to them one on one and everything and they havent even noticed. I havent even tried to hide it because I forget its there. So its such a discreet piercing. And in lessons its fun to play with!

I ::heart:: my tongue web.
