This has definitely been a long time coming. I have always been fascinated by piercings . I'm not the type person who cares what anyone else thinks about me,as long as im happy thats all that matters.

So I had quit talking bout it for a while. Well my friend got hers done for her 18th birthday and I went with her for support , well she loved hers and i was amazed by her getting it done and thats when I decided I had to have this piercing.
Well on a trip to Texas I seen tons of tattoo/piercing shops. I had planned on going to a near by one for days and never had the time , so one night after a long day I decided to go to a place called "Southern Boys Tattoos", just to look around and check out the place , and find out the piercing price and make sure it was a nice place and sterile.
I walked in and I was so nervous just being there I thought there was no way I was getting my tongue pierced . Well while I was checking out the tattoos my aunt was talking to the guy at the desk and found out the price of the piercing and she told him I wanted my tongue done,at first I thought no way!,but the guy was very nice and informative about everything and this was a great place,so then I figured why not, this is something i've always wanted and i'm not gonna let my nerves keep me from this.
I decided to go ahead and get it done , so I gave the guy my ID and filled out all the paper work and then went to pay and they did not have change (great now what), I knew if I left I was not coming back so I sent my aunt to get change, and I talked to the guy that worked there who had gotten his tongue pierced recently and he assured me it was not bad at all and that I was nervous for no reason , he told me after I was done i would see that it was silly to be so nervous so I felt better.
Finally my aunt was back and I paid and he got the paper work and needle and everything together to give to the piercer, well the piercer was finishing up a tattoo so I had to wait, this was the worse part , just sitting there, I was getting more and more nervous.
Finally the piercer came got me . We walked upstairs to the piercing room and sat on the chair , he got all the supplies out of new packs, very sterile ,he put gloves on and everything. He gave me a cup of listerine to swish with for what seemed like forever ( but was only about 30 seconds),then he dried my tongue and told me to stick it all the way out, he then put on the clamps ,which was probably the worse part ,they did not hurt ,they just added pressure, he checked the spot and gave me a little tray to hold under my chin for drool and the needle to fall in, he asked if I was ready and he pushed the needle through ,it was not bad at all as soon as I felt it,he was done ,then he put the barbell through and tightened the ball.He told me not to put my tongue back in my mouth yet. He then gave me a paper towel to wipe my mouth (drool hehe) ,it did not hardly bleed at all, he gave me more listerine to swish with , and then he told me all the aftercare instructions and what not to eat and what would help with swelling , and I thanked him and went on my way.
I was surprised that I did not get dizzy or anything as I have read some people do. I am so thrilled I went through with it and did not let my nerves make me back down. It was hard to speak and eat the first few days , and I also lived on ice water the first week ,I rinsed with listerine and glyoxide and it healed great. It has been a month now and I love it . I would do it all over again . So to anyone who wants their tongue pierced do it ,you will love it I guarantee. Make sure you get it done by a professional piercer.
