I'm 15 and I've always been impressed by piercings. I guess I'm one of those kids in school that is put in the abnormal category. For about 4 years of my life I begged my mom to get my tongue pierced. Of course because she's older she said no cause It's "ugly." My mom said no at first thousands of times but then it changed to "ask your father". It took him a while to give in and I mean a long while. We even got into fights about it. Well he just said one day that it was my body and if I wanted to be an asshole I could. And as long as he never saw it. Well I decided to be that ass that I am and my mom freaked out on him cause he told me I could. I see it as it's me and what I like. If nobody likes it then don't look at it....

It was july 3 and I was getting my tongue pierced. We were on the way to the shop and I was freaking out. My sister got her's done too and my friends came along and got there lips pierced. My mom signed the papers and we were ready to go. I decided that since I felt like I was gonna puke I'd let my sister go first so I could watch. Well I did and she didn't even flinch so I was calming down.
With one more look of my mom I was in the room. It was finally my turn to get pierced. In my head I was thinking holy shit it's actually gonna happen. Well ashley (my cool piercer) gave me the "how to take care of" sheet and explained to me everything that was on it. I said ok, sat down in the piercing chair and she got every thing ready. Ashley told me to stick out my tongue as far as I could. and it was a little difficult cause I don't have that long of a tongue. she told me that the clamp was gonna be a little annoying and she was trying to sooth me. She took the needle and clamp out of the package and put this jelly stuff on the needle to make it go through easier. She told me to take a deep breathe through my nose and when she said to blow out of my mouth and on the count of 3 she was gonna stick it through. I said ok and the magic happened. I was so surprised cause it didn't hurt at all. She put the barbell in and it was finished. It bled but not much. After she did it I had to rinse with listerine which burned a little. She then got me water and she asked me if I was dizzy or anything like that and I said no. So I had to wait for my friends to get what they had to get done and then we left.
We went to mcdonalds and got ice cream to stop it from swelling too much. Plus we were hungary but let me tell you it's quite hard to lick ice cream with a rod through your tongue. Every time I ate something I had to rinse with listerine. It got kind of annoying after a while but i didn't want it to get infected. It didn't hurt that day but the next day it did.
Your only suppose to eat soft foods but I tried french fries and that didn't even work. So I was like starving. I was popping tylenol like they were candy to keep the pain away. It hurt for a couple days but I was totally satisfied. While eating things I tended to chomp down on the ring cause the bar was so long. It was like a shocking pain but went away quickly.
About a week after I went back to the shop and they had me put in the little one so I could get used to it. I have so many tongue rings. But now I mostly just used the original silver one. It's almost a year later and im so glad I did it.I can eat anything I want and I play with it when im bored and I annoy my dad with it. Karen ( the girl that owns the shop) took pictures of the piercings I got there and now im on the wall of fame.
My mom calls me a freak cause I wear tons of bracelets and necklaces and I have my eyebrow and ears pierced 11 times. But we just laugh about it. To any one who is debating on getting it done.... DO IT! It'll be the best decision you've ever made. ~*~Krazy K's rocks~*~
