Since I was in eighth grade, and pierced my ear, I have always been interested in different body modifications. I found that throughout high school this interest became even stronger, even to point of becoming a fetish by the time I was a junior. One particular piercing that I wanted to get all though high school was a tongue piercing. My parents would not allow this so I had to wait until college. College came and three years passed and I was still scared of my parents reaction to me getting my tongue pierced. I tried other piercings including stretching my ears and piercing my nipples and eyebrow to see how they would react. (Tongue is the only part they ever had a big problem with) They were fine with it, but I was still petrified at what their reaction to a tongue piercing would be. This was until this year, in fact this week.
At A Glance Author Charles Contact Charles@bme.anon When It just happened Studio The Ra Shop Location Baton Rouge Monday I decided that I was going to get my tongue pierced whether my parents liked it or not. I really did not care if they cut me off or not. The only problem was it was midterm week at LSU, so I set this upcoming Monday to be the day I did it. The only problem was I could not wait that long. In a spur of the moment move when I was at dinner with a friend last night, I decided we were going to walk to the body piercing studio right next to the restaurant, completely ignoring my friend's pleas for me not to do it. She kept telling me to wait, and that I should not do anything spur of the moment. I assured her that I had considered this for years, and she finally consented to go with me.
The piercing studio was really nice. I saw that the piercer was state licensed and had quite a few impressive awards and recognitions. I decided I was going to do it, and the extreme adrenaline began pumping through my body. I went to the counter told the cashier that I wanted a 14g, and I gave her my credit card and license. I knew at that point there was no turning back.
I then went to the back and had a seat and waited for the piercer to finish preparations. I was very pleased that he verbally announced everything he was doing to sterilize the studio before he did the piercing. After he finished preparations he came and sat down and marked on my tongue where the needle would enter and exit. He then stepped back and took another look to make sure it was even. He decided it was and it was time to do the piercing. My heart at this point started to race, and I began sweating a lot. He clamped my tongue and then told me he was making sure the dots were aligned again. By the time he finished saying this, I realized he had done the piercing. He had distracted me while he did it, and I did not even realize the needle went through. He then put the bar in and this was the most uncomfortable part of the whole process. It felt like a lot of pressure going in but virtually no pain at all. That was all there was to the piercing, it was not a q uarter as bad as I thought it would be.
When I started walking home, I realized it was almost impossible to talk and my tongue was swelling. This is normal, and I was told to give it about a week to go down. I was made fun of by my friend who was with me during the experience and by my co-workers when I had to stop by Domino's to pick up my check. It was all in fun though, so I really did not mind.
My tongue is still pretty swollen today but there is not really in pain except when I try to eat. I am just going to have to eat soft stuff for the next couple of days, but this does not bother me. The piercing is well worth the trouble. You got to take the bad with the good in regards to anything you do in life.
I have to say, the whole experience was awesome. I never had a feeling like I did when I pierced my tongue yesterday. I feel like one of my goals in life it accomplished. I also believe it to be a big turn on sexually. This makes me feel a lot more self-confident especially since I have always had low self esteem. I did something outside of the mainstream, and I think it is sexy. My advice to anyone who is contemplating a tongue piercing is to do it!
