So, I was looking at BME one day, just like every other day, and I was trying to think about a mod that I could get, that wouldn't be visable unless I wanted it to be. I wanted my tongue pierced, but since that was way out of the question, I decided to look deeper in to oral piercing. As soon as a found the pictures of the tongue webs, I fell in love. I looked at numerous pictures of the beautiful piercing, and I looked up tones of information on it. I was soon determined to get my tongue web pierced.

I asked my friend that was going to the closest piercing parlour to my town, which is about a 45 minute drive, to ask if they did tongue webs and how much the procedure cost and all that kind of stuff. She later came back to me, and told me that they don't do tongue web piercing because they don't have the "curved" needle that they need to do the piercing. After hearing that I thought that my dreams were shattered. I was actually crushed knowing that I wasn't going to be able to get the piercing. I came back on my beloved computer and as every other day, came on BME. I started reading stories about tongue web procedures to see how they were done, and I noticed that a lot of them were done DIY. I read a huge number of experiences before gaining confidence in myself that I could do the piercing.

I thought about it for about a week, and then came to the conclusion that if I wanted this piercing bad enough, I would do it myself. I had already done my nostril DIY and stretched my ears DIY. I didn't have any problems with either of them, so I thought, why not. So, one night I was getting extremely pumped up about piercing, and modification in general, and I had a real itch for a mod. So, I took one last look at all the risks of the piercing, and made sure I knew where to put the needle, and I was on my way to pierce my tongue web.

I went home that night, and grabbed a dish, filled it with peroxide, set my needle and CBR to put in my new piercing, and went and brushed my teeth. After that I waited awhile longer to make sure my "tools" would be good and clean. I sat down in front of my mirror grabbed the needle out of the peroxide, dried it off a little, and got to work. I thought out the placement, and started to push the needle through my web. The web was very elasticity and it was hard to push through, but it's a very thin layer of skin so it went through pretty easy. I left the needle in for about a minute and then tried to put the CBR in my new piercing. It wouldn't push through and I thought that fresh hole had closed in already, so I re-pierced it, and left the needle in my web for a few minutes longer than the first time. I tried to put the CBR in again, and this time it went in with ease. I left it in for awhile and then decided to remove it. Until a later, why I couldn't tell you. B ut anyways, I went to sleep that night quite content with how easy it was to pierce my tongue web, and the anticipation of doing it all over again.

In the morning I decided to re-pierce my tongue web in time for school. I did so, just as easy as the night before, I left the needle in place for awhile and slipped the CBR right in place. I was so ecstatic, I had a new piercing, and I could go show it off. When I got to school that day, I showed everyone I could. I went and bought a 16ga barbell at lunch, and some mouth wash. I kept the 16ga barbell in for about 3 days, and then I bought a 14ga curved barbell. It went in rather easily but it was a pain to eat with, and kind of hard to talk with. I took out my beloved piercing after about a week. I was upset but I learned to live with out it.

I planned on re-piercing my web, and that's what I did. I got my friend to get me a 14ga barbell, and I made the plans to do my web over again. Right when my friend got to my house I sterilized my new barbell and my trusty needle, and I set to work. I inspected my tongue web, and noticed that it had developed a lot of scar tissue because of the first time I had pierced my web. But I really wanted the piercing, so I decided to do it anyway. I attempted to push the needle through, with more force the from the previous time I pierced it. But it went through after a few minutes of pushing. I left the needle in place for a few moments and then tried to get the barbell into place. I couldn't get the barbell in no matter how hard I struggled with it, so I decided to wait until I got to my cousin's house to finish my piercing. My friend was also planning on piercing her ear that day at my cousin's house, so we could pierce together...ha.

As soon as I got to my cousin's house, I got to work with my tongue web. It took a lot of pushing to get through the skin, but the needle went through, I left it in again for a few minutes and then tried to get the 14ga barbell in again. It wouldn't go through, but I had a 16ga barbell on hand, so I thought I would put that in for a few minutes and then try and put the 14ga in. I knew it wasn't a good idea to remove the jewellery to change it, but I thought why not. So I did just that, and when I tried to put the 14ga barbell in, it slid right in with a little force. I cleaned my mouth with mouth wash. And was completely content with my new piercing.

it's a few days after now, and I'm in love with my tongue web. Its placed back a lot farther than the first time, and I'm enjoying it a lot more. I clean it with mouth wash after I eat and I do sea salt soaks twice a day. I do recommend this piercing to anyone that wants it, but I DON'T recommend DIY.
