I was surfing the Internet one day and came across BME. I have been hooked on it ever since. Looking through all the pictures was really interesting. I was looking at all the tongue piercing and I knew I had to have one. I asked my mom to take me to get it done and the first words that came out of her mouth was "No!" I really wanted something in my mouth. Twenty-one body piercings, and counting, and I still wanted one in my tongue, Looking on BME at the other mouth piercing, I saw the tongue web! I thought it was really interesting and I did not know anyone who had it done. After thinking about it for a while and having a few attempts at it myself I thought I would seek the professional help of my piercer. Tons of thought and over exhilarating feeling that this would be totally cool!
At A Glance Author gaugequeen Contact gaugequeen@bme.anon When Three months ago Artist Kelly Studio West Coast Piercing Location Surrey/Guildford Saturday morning came around and I finally knew I was going to do this. I thought to myself... No one would know because its under your tongue!... My friend was going to get her eyebrow done so I tagged along. When entering the piercing shop I knew this is what I wanted, and wanted now. Stepped up to the counter and had this weird feeling. A feeling I should back out. But once I saw all the pretty jewelry I just couldn't! I told the guy at the counter exactly what I wanted. He looked at my web and then let me pick a color of CBR. I chose a 16-gauge 5/16' captive with a black ball and rainbow the rest of the way.
I explained exactly what he was going to do to me. He told me that tongue webs are hard to pierce and that he is going to grab as much 'meat' as he could and then pierce it. I did not get to look at where it was going. It was okay because I trust him and I knew that he knew what he was doing. He gave me a cup of anti-bacterial mouthwash and I swooshed it around for a minute or so. I was getting so anxious to see my new jewelry in my mouth! When he told me to lie down, I got this sudden feeling that I did not want to go threw with it anymore. As I saw him wrap an elastic around the clamps and told me to open wide. The great thing was I had three of my best friends in the room with me so at that point I knew I wanted to go do it. I lay down on the table and he clamped a little piece of my frenum. There was so much pressure from the clamps. It felt horrible and I told him to take them off. I just couldn't. I do like pain, but this was unbearable, and I was only at the part of t he clamp! He told me he would loosen the clamp. I was sweating and wasn't sure if I should do this. Remembering how great its going to look, I let him do that and place it back on. Then I closed my eyes and squeezed my friend's hand. He passed the needle in to my web. I felt the needle pass in and then remembered that was the kind of pain that in enjoyed. I got the greatest adrenalin rush. It was great. I was surprised it didn't hurt even more. It felt like a needle my dentist would have put in. He told me not to move or swallow incase the needle went down my throat! I was so scared, what if it would have? He quickly placed the CBR in place and tried for almost ten minutes to get the ball on. Working in my mouth is a small place he said, and especially where I wanted my piercing to go. Click! The ball went on and I was totally excited! I paid him and was given aftercare information.
I went to work twenty minutes later and I noticed I had slight speech impairment. It was fine after a few days. I washed my fresh new piercing everyday! It did not take long to heal. About two and half weeks. I changed it in to a barbell, which took me forever to put on. But then soon had problems with it placed in a 16-gauge 3/8' and it took me awhile to get used too.
For anyone thinking about getting this piercing: I would recommend it if you really want it. The pain is easy to go through once you realize how much you are going to love it! And my mom did find out when I was talking one day. She thinks it is really cool and at least I can hide it from grandparents.
