When It just happened
I always loved looking at pictures on BME. I love piercing and plan on getting lots of things done. I never really liked tongue piercings though. Everyone has them, they're not special anymore. So I didn't go in to the Tongue Piercing pictures when I first found BME.

One day when I was bored, I decided to look at the pictures. I totally fell in love with Venoms, but my parents wouldn't let me get any tongue piercings done. I also really liked the tongue web piercings. I loved the fact that I could do it just for me, and no one but me would ever see it. I knew my parents wouldn't know about it, so that was also really good. So I decided I'm getting it done next time I don't have school for a few days.

I don't have school this week, so I went to a studio here yesterday with my friend Ana. She wanted to get her tongue pierced and I was going to get my tongue web pierced. When we got there, Ana got scared and said she doesn't want to get it done anymore. I still wanted the tongue web piercing, I was really excited about getting it. I asked the piercer if they do them there, and he said yes, so I was really happy. The place was clean, the people were nice and they had lots of jewelry to choose from.

I waited 5 minutes for the piercer to get ready, until he called me to come in to the piercing room. I went with him and my friend came in to hold my hand. He asked me to sit on the big weird chair while he put gloves on and took a Q-tip from a little bag he had on the table. He asked me to open my mouth and lift my tongue, and he put the Q-tip under my tongue. He asked me to put my tongue down and then lift it again a few times while he moved the Q-tip around and touched my tongue web. After doing that for a minute, he took it out and said "I can't pierce you, you don't have a tongue web". I was shocked. I opened my mouth, lifted my tongue and showed him where exactly I wanted it to be pierced. He explained that I don't really have a tongue web, it just looks like it when I lift my tongue, but when my tongue sits in my mouth normally, you can't really feel my tongue web there. He said that piercing the tongue web I have wouldn't be a good idea, it would just reject and hurt . I was so disappointed. I had a feeling that was going to happen. My friend tried to cheer me up and said I should get a smiley piercing, but I didn't want it. I wasn't going to just get something pierced because I couldnt get what I wanted. So I thanked the piercer and went home.

When I got home, I was still really disappointed, and opened my mouth to look at it myself. It looked like my tongue web was big enough, and I really wanted the piercing, so I decided to do it myself. My mother is a nurse, so we have a drawer full of needles and things. I took out a 18G needle and gloves, and found a small pink barbell I bought before for my tragus. I cleaned the barbell with alcohol and washed my mouth out with some mouth wash. I held my tongue at the roof of my mouth and pushed the needle through my tongue web. It hurt more than I thought it would and it started to bleed. The barbell fell on the floor when I tried to pick it up to put it in the new hole, so I had to clean it again. By the time the barbell was ready to go in the hole, my mouth was all bloody. I tried to put the barbell in, but the needle fell out and I couldn't find the hole because everything was full of blood. So I just gave up and washed my mouth out. Now I have a scar where the hole was .

I should've listened to my piercer. I'm happy he told me the truth and didnt just pierce me to get money out of it... I know I can trust him, and thats really important. Piercing yourself is never a good idea, don't try it. It looks so easy but it can get really dangerous and its not as simple as it seems.

I guess my tongue web just wasnt meant to be pierced, and I'm going to have to learn to live with that, even though I really wanted that piercing.
