I finally did it.I finally had the guts to have my second piercing, this time in my tongue. My first piercing was a labret, and I had kept dreaming about tongue piercing for over two years now. One of the reasons why I couldn't get it earlier was my mom, who told me not to get one as long as I'm going to live at home. Now since I have moved away I allowed myself to get this awesome piercing.

So here's how it started. One friday morning I just decided that this would be the day for my tongue piercing. I was a bit nervous of course, thinking of all infections and stuff.. what if my tongue gets really sore and inflamed and so on... and I was also a little afraid of the pain it might cause. But I had read a lot of that piercing and knew it was one of the piercings that cause hardly any pain. As I told before, I have a labret and that hurt a bit, and so I was prepared for pain.

Nevertheless, I still called Timo and made an appointment for that day, and asked different questions about the piercing. After that phone call I was really excited and happy, thinking of my new piercing soon to come. I felt a little nervous but in a good way.. I just wanted to get over with it, I had been waiting for so long.

Later that day we arrived at Seinäjoki and made some shopping while waiting. I decided to have a proper lunch before my piercing 'cause I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat for a couple of hours after the piercing was done. Only water and ice cubes, yummy..

Time went by and suddenly it was time for me to get pierced. My two best friends, Jussi and Riina, were with me, and in our way to the piercing studio we ran into our friend in school, Toni, and I told him I was getting my tongue pierced. We asked if he'd like to join us, and so did he. I felt good having so many friends around me, and so we got into Fleet Line.

Placed looked tidy and clean, which made me relaxed. It was really small, thought. Timo welcomed me and showed me to the chair and I sat on it. I had already forget how much it would cost so I asked him again and it cost 45€. He took all the necessary equipments he would need and told me to put my tongue out. I was a little nervous at that point and had difficulties in putting my tongue out (it was weird but funny when you think of it now) and he told me that it would be very hard for him to pierce my tongue while it's still in my mouth:p

My memory traces of the whole piercing episode are quite slight, maybe it's because the whole operation was over so quickly and it didn't hurt at all. Maybe there was a little pinch at some point but I was happily surprised, maybe a little disappointed that it wasn't a bigger deal after all:) I was already getting up when Timo told me not to get up too soon or too fast, he said that a lot of people might pass out or something.. I really felt great, but I waited for a while just in case and then got up. I paid Timo and felt really happy. And I just loved my tongue piercing from the very first second I felt it in my mouth. At first the balls in jewelry felt really big, but now I can't remember how empty my mouth must felt before..

I wasn't given any solutions I could wash my mouth with, and first I was surprised about it, 'cause everyone else I know with tongue piercing have have some solutions they used for a couple of first weeks. The only order was not to eat hot meals for two weeks. Water was only "solution" Timo recommend. But so far so good, no problems with the healing:

My tongue healed very quickly, it's been a week now since I got it and it's great. I know it's not completely healed yet, it takes almost two months to get it really healed. But first my tongue was a little swollen for a few following days, that's all i got. No difficulties in talking, I can eat normally and everything. I remember my friends telling me horrible stories of how I wasn't going to be able to speak for two weeks and so on.. I recommend this piercing for everybody, if you keep on thinking about having one, go for it!! After I had it done I just couldn't help but checking my new, awesome piercing out for like every 30 seconds (is it still there?!) ,it really drove my friends crazy 8)
