It's been about two months since I had my first piercing. After much deliberation on my part and my wife's, I finally said the hell with it and went to have it done. My wife wanted me to get a PA for my first piercing, but I couldn't stand the time lapse between healing and sex or masturbation. That can wait for another day.

I decided to get my tongue pierced after looking around the BME website. I don't know about anyone else, but I decided to do it because "I" wanted to do it. Not for any particular reason, I just wanted to do it. For those who know me, I am a person of deep morals and honor. Brought up in a military style setting, I find solace in believing that there is only right and wrong in the world. This attitude would lead one to believe that I don't believe in body modification. Thus far, no one believes that I have had it done and my younger sister believes it was an attempt to upstage her recent breast enlargement. Oh well, it was something that I felt I wanted done and decided to do it. I didn't do it to please anyone or to make a statement. I have never been one to rebel and at 29 the days of rebellion are way past. I am comfortable with myself and felt that this was something that I needed to do to make myself happy.

One Thursday afternoon I made my way down to BodyTech in Gainesville, Florida. The place seemed to be well organized and I enjoyed the people that were working there. I know that I looked out of place by anyone's standards, but the guys and girls in BodyTech made me feel like I belonged there. I did the usual filling out of paperwork, reading up on the aftercare and all that jazz. What freaked me out was 12 minutes after I walked in the place; I walked out with my tongue pierced.

Matt took me to the piercing room, which was very clean and organized. Matt's professionalism could be a training tool for most businesses in today's society. Everything was straightforward and he answered any questions that I posed. As for the pain, I asked what pain. Being my first piercing I expected something, but nothing there.

It's been two months since the piercing and last week I was removing my favorite tongue ring and the phone rang, I went to answer it and had a lengthy conversation, not realizing the piercing was closing. Yep! The damn thing closed. I called Matt on Monday and asked what could be done. He said just to come on in and he would reopen the hole, no problem. As the story will tell, not something one would want to go through.

I felt a great deal of relief and satisfaction, knowing I could get my tongue ring back in soon. On Wednesday I went down to BodyTech and met Matt to get it reopened. I have experienced pain before, but nothing could compare it to what was going to happen. Matt used the typical tapered stretching needle to reopen my piercing. The hole must have closed more than either of us thought, because it was hell getting it back in. After two tries to push the needle through, Matt was successful. It was during this time that I questioned ones mindset to have a hole stretched to a larger size hole, regardless of were it was on their body. After much blood and drool I realized that this was something I didn't want to have to take place again.

It's been a couple of days since I had the hole reopened. I have to say, in a world were we are supposed to conform to a given standard, this makes me feel a little human knowing that I am different than what people typically feel about me. I love the feeling of having the ring in and my wife hasn't complained about the "feeling" either.

I don't want another piercing that can be viewed by others in public, but you can bet on it that by the end of the year I will have a PA and my nipples pierced. I have enjoyed the feeling of the tongue piercing, and if I can just get over the fact that you have to wait so long to recover from a PA, I would get it done tomorrow. But, as with anything in life, you have to give something to receive something. Oh well, the day will come that it takes place, but until then, Good luck, and enjoy!

PS, I would also like to hear about the heightened state of sensitivity of a PA and nipple piercing from others, I can be reached at DBryant574@aol.com.

Thanks,

D
