Since my 16th birthday I've developed a fetish for piercings. On my birthday I got my conch pierced and I love it! I was searching for something I had never heard of or seen and came across the uvula. I thought it would be so wicked, but I kept looking, and soon I discovered tongue webs.

For about a month I looked at pictures of these two piercings and was determined. So one friday night when my boyfriend and I were going out my mom pissed me off so bad that I told Eric, my boyfriend, that we were going to the tattoo parlor. He had no idea what was about to happen.
We walked in and Poke, who had pierced my conch for me, asked what I wanted done. I told him I wanted either my uvula or tongue web done. Since they didn't have crescent needles to pierce my uvula he told me he could do my tongue web. He sterilized all the equipment and I went back to the room with Eric. A few groupies from the shop came into the room and asked to watch, and soon I had 12 people in the room just to watch. Poke came back and explained that I would have to keep my mouth open and my tongue up as far as I could put it. I told him I was ready and a few people in the room made some comments like, "You've got balls girl" or "Man this is really gonna hurt"
I opened my mouth as far as I could and put my tongue back as far as i possibly could. Poke took the forceps and placed them on my tongue web, making sure to push the blood vessels back and the tendon forward. For the first few seconds the forceps didn't hurt. Then it hit me, these things are really pinching. I squeezed Eric's hand and closed my eyes. My eyes teared up and then started to water like crazy! Poke said, "Man these things are getting to her now." This had to be the worst part of the whole procedure. I remember just wanting to stop there.
Next came the needle. By the time he was ready to pierce the forceps hurt so bad it made the needle seem like a pinch. He put it through and this was the point that became really hard to hold my mouth open. He told me he was going to take the forceps off and that the needle would still be in and i couldn't move! When he took the forceps off it was extremely hard to keep my mouth open. I wanted to lick my lips, I wanted to swallow, basically I wanted to relax!
Poke attempted to take the needle out and replace it with a captive bead ring, however my tongue moved and he lost the hole. He told me, "Hun your movin', I know it's hard but this will be over in a second." So I kept my eyes closed and just tried to keep my tongue still. He worked the ring through all the but last layer, the ring just wouldn't go through so he took the needle and re-pierced one side. It didn't hurt at all and i was so happy to have it finally through.
I still had to hold still, Poke kept his fingers in my mouth while he got the pliers to open the ring and put the ball on. This should have been an easy part, but the way he had his hand in my mouth, pinched my lip against my teeth and my eyes were watering again. He finally got the ball on and I was done. He had my move my tongue around, talk, and play with it, just to make sure the ball didn't come off. It was on good so I stood up and showed my audience.
I didn't have too many problems talking. I had to get used to it being in my mouth, just like you would any other piercing. I did have a serious drool problem. My suction still isn't very good so I try to avoid straws! Probably the biggest problem for me was the use of my tongue. Sticking my tongue out doesn't work any more. About a week later I've gotten it a bit further than that night, but my tongue will never be as long as it was before (major disappointment).
This piercing is definitely hard to get used to, but it's fun. Also, if you want to get something pierced that your parents won't see, I recommend a tongue web for sure!
