I had been doing tons of research on BME and I absolutely fell in love with tongue web piercings. I decided that I wanted one. I proceeded to ask my mom if she would approve of it and she said yes, as long as I paid for it. I showed her pictures of it and she was disgusted that I wanted to that to myself but she still let me do it because it wasn't a visible piercing.

On September 1, 2001 my mom and I drove to Jungle Zone, I picked this shop because it was clean and the staff knew what they were talking about and I knew a few people that have been pierced there and their piercings turned out great.
I went in and told the girl at the counter that I wanted a tongue web piercing and she went to the back to get the piercer, Jimmy. He came out and we discussed aftercare and cleaning and what not and the two of us proceded to the piercing room. He sat me down in the chair and told me to open my mouth and he poked around a bit and said he was going to use a curved needle. I asked him if he could pierce it at 10 gauge but he does not do initial oral piercings at anything other then 14 gauge. I was perfectly fine with it. He then told me to choose my jewelry and I chose a half inch blue titanium straight barbell. Then he put it in the autoclave. He told me to sit down and made me swish with warm water, I don't know why he wanted me to but I did as he said. Then he put on his gloves and got his supplies ready. He picked up the clamps and clamped my web. This was very uncomfortable, but I dealt with it. Then he picked up the needle and I closed my eyes and I felt the needle slide through my tongue web. No pain or discomfort at all.The Jimmy followed through with the barbell and tried to screw he ball on and had a lot of trouble because he had big hands. A few minutes later he got the ball on and it was finally done!
I was feeling a little woozy so I just stayed in the chair for a few minutes and he gave me a drink of water and I felt better. I got up and looked in the mirror and I was very pleased. I paid him his thirty five dollars plus a ten dollar tip and I was on my way.
The whole drive home I was looking in the mirror and I was calling my brother telling him what I did. By the time I got home my mouth was really sore so I just drank some cold water and it felt a little better.
Everything was going fine with the piercing, I was swishing with sea salt twice a day and everything was going great until October 11. I was brushing my teeth and I snagged the barbell really bad with the toothbrush and it ripped pretty bad. There was only about 3mm of skin left of the piercing so I took it out. I really would like to get it done again but I have to wait until I am 18 because my mom does not want to take me again.
A few months later, a friend of mine got a credit card and I asked him if he could order something online for me and he said yes. I ordered a few needles, a pair of clamps and some jewelry from BME. About a week later my order came and I went to my bathroom to pierce my tongue web again. I washed my hands up for about 2 minutes with Dial and dried them with clean paper towels and put gloves on. Then I took the clamps out and clamped my tongue web. Ow. I hate those damn clamps, I do not know why they bother me so much but anyways, I took the needle and slid it through my tongue web, and all I felt was a little pinching, no discomfort. Then I was standing there about 3 inches away from the mirror (like I am going to see it any better) with clamps hanging out of my mouth and I picked up the barbell and put it through and took the clamps off. I picked up the ball and had a lot of trouble getting it, but about five minutes later I finally got it on.
Just like the first time, I had no trouble with the healing until about 2 months later. I went to the dentist and he saw it and made me take it out because it would affect the x rays too much. After a bit of arguing, I finally took it out. I miss it so much, maybe I will so it again some day.
