I have always been into piercings and always wanted to find something that no one had. I could not think of anything. I needed to find something that my mom would not see either. I was not 18 yet so I could not have anything professionally done either. So I thought oh well I guess I am just going to have to wait. I have always wanted my tongue done but everyone had that and it was really noticeable so that was definitely out of the question.

Well about a month ago I got the idea to pierce the web of my tongue from my brother's girlfriend. She did hers and I liked it. So I went up to the mall and picked out an 18-gauge barbell with blue dice. I figured since my web is tiny I should get a small gauge bar. Anyway I purchased the barbell and came home. I was so excited to get my web pierced but at the same time I was so nervous. I was very afraid that the piercing was going to be painful.

Well when I came home I attempted to pierce my web myself. I cleaned my mouth out with Listerine and cleaned the bar with rubbing alcohol. Then sterilized the safety pin I was going to use. I proceeded to pierce my tongue web and I could not finish it. I got the needle about half way through my web and had to stop because I was going to pass out. An hour later I asked my brother if he could do it for me and he said he would. So we got a bunch of Orajel and tried to do it. Well I had my brother trying to pierce it and my best friend holding up my tongue. Well I started drooling so much and I was just like hurry up and fucking finish my piercing. Well a lot of drool and an hour later my piercing was finally done. Thank god. And I was so happy but then came the time to screw the ball on the end. Well that took me half an hour and the help of some tweezers to get it on. But I finally did.

I could not eat for about a week. Mostly because I was afraid that I was going to rip out my new piercing. It just kind of felt really awkward. All I could do was eat yogurt and drink stuff. But then I got used to the piercing and could then eat. And everything was going good. I could play with it and I was enjoying my new piercing.

About a month later I was eating an apple and well I kind of felt back just to check if the bar was still in like I always do when I eat and it was gone. Well I reached my hand in my mouth and found the bar on the bottom of my mouth. I was so upset. I could not believe that my webbing ripped out. I took a look in the mirror and I had just 2 chunks of skin left and just a big hole where it used to be. It was only bleeding a little bit but I felt a little sick to my stomach. And my friend was no help she just busts out with "Try not to swallow your tongue" and then I felt even sicker. It might have been because I played with it a little too much or that maybe my body just rejected it and that was the way it was going to get the bar out. Who knows. I just wish it was still there. It was probably my favorite piercing that I had. Even though so far I only have my ears and my belly button. But it was something that no one really had and I miss it.

I really don't recommend anyone to pierce this themselves. I could have hit an artery and maybe bleed to death who knows. Or you know I could have just done it wrong and messed up something. It was a stupid thing to do. But I do recommend the piercing. But wait until you are of legal age and then get it done. It's a fun piercing and its get for making out with. But get it professionally done. I am going to wait until mine heals up, maybe it will grow back who knows, then i might get it professionaly done but maybe through the ball part. Or if it does heal up right then I might get it done in the same spot again. If and when I get it repierced i will make sure i get a bigger gauge like a 14 gauge so it doesnt rip out again.
