Well as you can tell from the title it is about my tongue web piercing. I live in England and the laws are different, so don't think I got this done illegally. It all started a few months back when I wanted my tongue pierced, I had not asked my parents if I could get it done but I knew that they would have said no. That would have been my first piercing, but I decided it would annoy me when I am talking and eating so I thought " Na I won't ever get that done ". So I looked around BME and I saw something called a tongue " Web " piercing.

I thought " oooooo that looks nice " and my parents would not notice it. So after a few weeks it was a two-week holiday and I went down to the best piercing studio called " Grin and Bear it " I asked them if they do tongue web piercings, one guy said maybe, I thought " Damn he wont do it " But then he said " It depends on how big your web is " I then showed him my web and he said yes we can do it. I was very happy then. I waited in the front studio for a few minutes waiting for him to prepare his instruments.

I looked at the tattoos on the walls and then this guy who was hanging out with them said to me " You should stretch your ear " I then replied " I tried it but it hurt too much, it could be that I have only had my lobe done for 4 weeks and it is not fully healed " But it wasn't I was using the wrong thing. He then said come on in, so I did. He then said " Sit there " Before he did anything I said could I have this belly button bar put in there. He said " Yeh sure ". I gave him the jewellery in a small transparent bag. He told me to put my tongue up to the roof of my mouth and I did.

I had to hold it there while he put the clamps on, it was quite hard, and he then picked up the needle and put through my web. I thought " humm that was not so bad ". It was a bit pain full when he took of the clamps, then came the jewellery, that did not hurt a bit! I was expecting it to hurt like a son of a bitch, then I paid, he told me as I was going out " Don't worry if you get any ulcers under your tongue it is normal ".

But thank goodness I did not. There is a bummer when going to all the studios I go to; they never give you any aftercare sheets or tips. When I was walking home I opened my mouth and showed my friend Adam it really hurt then. As soon as I got home I sat down and watched TV for about 10 minutes, it started to hurt a bit so I got an ice cream, this calmed down my piercing a bit.

The next day I tried to eat some cereal and it was very hard, I waited till it was soggy first. A few days after that it was a lot easier to eat. It gave me a speech impediment for a week and a few days. I may still have it but I don't notice it. This is the aftercare I followed:

1. Brush teeth every few hours or when I could

2. Rinse mouth with Listerine mouth wash, this helped a bit with the redness

3. Don't drink any alcohol (well I am only 15 and I'm not supposed to anyway)

4. Drink a lot of water and no hot drinks

5. Don't play with it what so ever (until healed fully)

6. No spicy food e.g. curry, chilly,

There is one thing that is quite annoying, that is I have to clean the balls on the bar a lot because it gets this white stuff on it. It is very hard to get off. I get my toothbrush and scrape at it a lot, and then it comes off.

This piercing is not always good to get unless you absolutely love that piercing, because you will find some people think it is disgusting, only 2 - 3 people out of the hundreds I know like it. My parents still don't know about it, as you can tell " I'm sill alive " heheheeee. If anyone wants any more information or just wants to talk about piercings here is my e-mail address Slipknot639@hotmail.com I also have MSN messenger so I can talk to you.
