This is the fun little story of my tongue web piercing :) Enjoy!

Anyways I went to several reputable places in this city one of which is solely a piercing studio figuring I would have good luck there and heard from the piercing only place that it was an "unethical piercing" because it could impede my speech and refused to do it but then recommended others that would. I think he was misusing the word but I was pissed and held my tongue since getting angry would not help the situation.
So I decided to check out more places on my list and finally one place had a woman who would do it for me in a reasonable amount of time since everyone else who would do it was heavily booked. I went down to look at her portfolio and talk with her to make sure I was comfortable with her since she would be sticking a needle in my body. I made my appt and just waited for the piercing day to come.
On the day of my appt I walked down to the studio with a friend who wanted to watch and checked everything out. I met my piercer, who was very professional and nice, and we went about the process. She checked my anatomy to make sure I could handle this piercing then showed me spore tests for the autoclave and where everything was disposed of and all of the health aspects since I inquired after all it is my health (my tattoo artist taught me to question). She then had me rinse with Listerine for about a minute while she opened sterile packages and laid out her tools. I laid down on her table and took a few calming breaths. The piercer joked about me biting her with my filed teeth and I promised I would not since she could inflict more pain on me. That helped me relax and get ready for the ordeal. She said she was all set, then I sucked my tongue to the roof of my mouth and she clamped my web and marked where she was going to pierce. Then she had me breath a couple more times (I must have looked more nervous than I felt) and counted to three and pierced away. The only part of the piercing I felt was a little pop when the needle went through which was a nice feeling, like an accomplishment because that is the hardest part for me to get through. Honestly it did not hurt at all, since I have high pain tolerance and there really aren't any nerves down there. Sucking my tongue up for so long and the Listerine were much worse. She then put my ring in. She had a little trouble with the ball because of all the saliva but finally got that on. The process was interesting since my friend was watching intently and I could not see anything, so she started to describe what it looked like so I could picture it in my head. I love watching things like that so I am very glad she came with to describe the experiance to me. The piercer showed me a mirror and took some pictures for her portfolio and asked if I was happy with the way it looked. It was pe rfectly straight and looked great I could not have been happier. It w as a great first piercing experiance that I share whenever anyone notices the hint of silver in my mouth, it makes me want to get more piercings. Aftercare was easy just a lot of listerine rinsing and I didn't swell up much and there was no trouble talking or any other general mouth applications. It's a great little toy for me to play with that I'm so happy I got. I'm thinking of changing to a barbell soon. The only problem I have had with it comes from my dentist who tells me I could get sepsis from not taking care of it but that is an easy problem to solve. The little ring in my mouth is just an extension of my body now that I love to play with. One of the best parts of having it is when people kiss you and find out it's there, it becomes a little toy for the both of you. The feeling that it gives me when it's played with is great it is slightly painful to pull on so it's good pain.
