Hello, My name is Natalie, aka nat, and I am a 14 year old girl from Bend, Oregon. I grew up in New york which is how I discovered my love for piercings, espically tongue. Obiously I wasn't sheltered growing up in queenz, so at the young age of 14 I started studying piercings; it was at this point i first saw a tongue piercing. My Mom's best friend Tara who's in her 20s is one of the coolest and best people I knew and had her tongue done. She inspired me liking of tongue piercings.

My first real piercing was my belly button done at Nomads. This is when I found the piercer I would go to. He is an awsome piercer; I have a great respect for his skills and knowledge. So automaticly I knew He was the only one I would trust with shoving a needle trough something with as many nerves and veins as my tongue.

My 14'th birthday was when I went to have my piercing done. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat for a week so we went out to eat prior. After dinner we headed over to Nomads. Once we arrived my mom filled out the paper work; wiel I picked out my bar. We paid Blake then we went into one of the piercing rooms. Once there he explained how the piercing procedure would go; and showed me what he would use. He had me stick out my tongue so that he could check it out. Once he knew the situation with my tongue he had me rinse my mouth out wiel he sterilized jewlery. Once again he had me stick out my tongue (felt kinda like a puppy dog at this point) and he put a clamp on it. Despite what i'd been told by others I felt no pressure, nor pain, due to the clamp; I didn't even notice it was there(I closed my eyes by this point). Once the clamp was in place he asked me to hold it as he grabbed the jewlery and the canal. Next thing I knew I felt a slight bit of pressure; But NO pain at all. I was amaized I herd this hurt really reallyybadly, but it didn't. He handed me a tissue to wipe away any drool I had on me, then told me I could put my tongue back in my mouth. This was a really awkward feeling because of the long bar. Just make sure you lift up your tongue so you don't hit it on ur bottom teeth. ow...Any how I walked over to the mirror and I loved it, despite the immense length of it.

After the piercing was done was the worst part. I talked like I had a sore tooth, or a candy in my mouth or something. Eating was also really hard. After a few days I got tired of eating yougert, pudding ,soup, iced cream, and jello; But that was all I could eat. Christmas day I was eating mashed potatos, wiel every one else was eating sea food. It sucked. Finally the week was up! My mom took me that morning to go have my bar downsized. Ahhh so much better. I could talk better, and eat! I could eat! I was soooo happy! It took me a wile to re-learn how to eat stuff, but now I'm all over it. When my friends came over for new years all I herd was hey lemme see your tongue! Once again I was feelin like a puppy. My tongue hangin out all the time. But it was cool because I love how it looks. I play with it a lot too. Its just fun to have in your mouth. In general as a piercing this one's great, if you have a lot of patience. To me it was worth the wait. A word of caution if you' re a girl it does give some guys the wrong impression. I learned that and promptly hit the guy. Be aware guys will think things of you. So yea. Another thing I would be careful about with a tongue piercing, because it is such a sensitive piercing, is the threading of the jewlery. Make sure it's internally threaded. This means the balls screw into the bar, not the other way around. When the little screw part is on the bar when the piercing isn't healed it can rip or cause soreness to a piercing. So just a word of advice. I've had 2 people come up to me this year due to problems with that, so know that ahead of time. Hm... I think I've just about stated all that I wanted to know before I got my tongue done. So just be safe, find a clean piercer who knows what he/she's doing. And don't do it yourself unless you your self know what you are doing. And that about wraps it up so if you have any questions or comments on my tongue, or any of my piercings feel free to IM me e-mail me . Hotlilrebel87@aol.com. Thanks a lot -Nat
