Well, it was about two weeks ago i think, maybe one .. I was sitting on here, bored as usual, checking out the piercings, and I once again came across the tongue web piercing. I'd fallen in love with this piercing about two years ago, and forgotten about it when my parents refused to sign the forms, so (ynow, since I was bored and all), i decided to pierce the little bugger myself. I was planning on waiting a few days to do it, but after reading every possible experience on this piercing on BME, I went to bed.

And couldn't sleep.
Really couldn't sleep.
Just couldn't get this piercing outa my mind. So on goes the light, out comes the ice, mouthwash, needle, and ring. Oh, and the phone, always the phone, well i had to let people know what i was doing, didn't I. I first brushed my teeth, and washed my mouth out with mouthwash, washed my hands and then opened wide and took a good look under my tongue. Yep, this would work. Get the ice. Suck on that for a bit, then clean my mouth out again. Got the needle then. Thought, 'If I don't do this now, it'll never happen.'
Looked in the mirror again, and realised I was drooling. Hehe.
Pushed the needle through. Well, almost through, the stupid thing then decided it wouldn't penetrate the other side. So I'm sitting there with a needle halfway through the bottom of my tongue. And of course, that was the moment that I got the giggles. Not a good time for that, about midnight, parents asleep and all. So I get out the mobile phone and send a text message to my boyfriend telling him I've got a nedle hanging out my mouth. Luckily he was asleep so didn't reply. Sent a text message to an old friend, telling her. She replied with a laugh and encouragement to keep going. So I did. I took out the needle and tried again. And again.
And again.Drool was everywhere, my saliva glands must've been working double time, and it just wouldn't go though that last millimeter of skin, or whatever it is. It just wouldn't.
So out it comes again, and then i had the sense to start from the other side, the side it wouldn't go through, and IT WORKED!! So I then take the needle out, and in goes the CBR. My boyfriend got another text message and my friend too. Then I fell asleep. I seriously don't know how I fell asleep, since ten minutes before I'd felt like I was high in the sky, but anyway.
The next morning, my mum didn't notice. I can honestly say it didn't hurt to pierce it, and the only reason I could tell it was there was because of the CBR, the bead was too large. I was working that day, and starting early, so I went and got my usual brekky of a bacon and egg roll. BIGGEST mistake of my life, it nearly ripped it out. Well it looked pretty good, and the girls at work could only tell it was there because I was talking a little funny coz of the bead on the CBR but they loved it. Anyway all the girls at work and my friends near my work said it looked excellent, apart from the fact it's a little crooked. I got a tiny barbell on my lunch break, but couldn't screw the bead on, so I had to put up with an annoying CBR for the rest of the day. It actually took an hour to eventually get it on. But I'm pretty happy with the result. As I said, it's been a few weeks, and it's healing pretty well, my parents and family still havent noticed it, my friends love it and one of them wants me to do hers, my boyfriend doesn't understand my love for it but since it's not that noticeable doesn't care, and I'm in love with it.
WIth the barbell in this little piercing, (its a 16g barbell only about 5/8" long) I'm much happier. It's much less noticeable, it doesn't affect my speech at all, it looks cuter, it deosn't get in the way of food or anything. The only thing wrong with it is that the balls on either end are REALLY hard to screw on, they're so tiny.
I would definately reccomend this piercing to everyone, for one thing it's different, it's painless, no-one's seen it before, it's not very noticeable, it satisfy's that piercing urge, and it's really cute.
I'm sure there's a lot of people who will read this and think I should've gone to a pro for this piercing, well any piercing for that matter, but I personally don't think it would've made any difference except make a hole in the money-box, seeing as though it would've cost me nearly AU$100. I have'nt had any reactions or infections either. Anyway happy piercing!
