Being 14 years old, I was fascinated with body modification. I would get anything pierced. I had my nose pierced and my ears twice, and one time on the top. It all started because a friend came over to my house one night and she had got her tongue pierced. She told me that I would *never* be able to go through the pain... so being the kind of person I am, I wanted to prove a point that I COULD do it. So I talked to my mom and she said yeah. I was happy.

I asked my mom and dad. My parents are cool with body modification (but they don't have any out of the ordinary piercing.) They said yeah. But my mom said she wouldn't go with me in the room too get it pierced *lol*. So we called the tattoo and piercing place I've gone to for years and my mom talked to the guy. So a couple days later, my mom took me... I sat in the waiting room and looked at tattoo's. I was nervous, but who wouldn't be?!
My mom and I filled out all the information and my mom decided to go back with me. So Louis directed me to the seat. I sat down, my hands were so sweaty, I was so excited that I was going to get it done. Louis sterilized the silver barbell, which seemed to take forever. But he talked to me, and well.. lets just say HIS LOOKS and HIS CHARM made me forget all about why I was there. He took the needle out of the package, which looked huge. Since I am extremely scared of needles, I got a little jumpily, but not badly. About 8 minutes later he left and came back with the cute barbell. He put on gloves, put that napkin thing you get when you go to the dentist on me, and told me to stick out my tongue as far as I could. He held it up and looked at it closely... and said "This one will be easy!" I was happy and felt total comfort then. He took a pen and marked my tongue. I relaxed a great deal. He told me exactly what he was doing at all times and this made me feel great. He went over to the radio and turned the Limp Biscuit song up, which put me in a pleasant mood, and comfy. He came over and said on the count of 5 I'll have a "sexy, sweet tongue ring". He counted and sung at the same time, and on 5 - BOOM, he stuck the needle through my tongue. The needle its self felt like it took a while to get through my tongue. I mean, don't get me wrong it went extremely quickly, but it was as though I could actually feel the needle going through, maybe the time thing was all my head.. I don't know, but during the time of the actual needle through my tongue, it was the best feeling I've ever through. It was this kind of pleasurable pain. The kind of 'pain' that you want to never go away. I had this moment that was awesome, it was like it wasn't me who was getting pierced, and I was looking at the girl getting it pierced. It was truly a wonderful experience. Of course, like I was warned- I drooled a lot.
It felt weird because there was a very significant piece of attraction between him and I. And drooling on a hot guy!? Geeze, that's not my idea of sexiness and 1st impressions. Then, he put the barbell through and turned the ball until it was tight on the barbell. But anyway- he said "all done chick". I was thinking, "that's it?" I mean I thought it was going to hurt. Louis went to the fridge and handed me this sugar drink. He told me I should really drink sugar because I need to get my sugar level back up. So I quickly drank it. I laid back in the chair, and Louis and I talked about do's and don'ts. He then gave me a paper with the do's and don'ts on it to take home. I left, and went home. Everything really felt fine but odd. I couldn't eat at all. When I woke up the next day, my tongue was huge, I could not swallow, and I could barely talk, and defiantly not eat. The only thing I ate for a week was Jell-O. That's all I could eat, everything else hurt to go down. I constantly ate crushed ice. Yes, it did make SOME of the swelling go down but not a lot. Personally, I could have done without the ice. It really didn't do much for my tongue, let alone me. The next day, because I couldn't swallow without a great deal of pain I spit into a bucket, and I longed for the day I could actually talk and swallow. About 6-7 days, my tongues swelling was gone, I could eat- although it was still very tricky. But everything was OK. I was in love with my tongue. Everywhere I went everyone wanted to see my tongue, and well since I'm an attention freak I absolutely loved it. I've had no problems with my tongue except for the occasional "will you work that tongue on me?" from whack guys. In which you really have to just shake those dumb questions off. But- if your thinking about getting you tongue pierced. GO FOR IT! Guys love it (the lucky ones);x . And the piercing its self did not hurt at all, it's the afterward days that follow that aren't a walk in the park... but it's a beautiful piercing, and totally worth. Lets just say, I would DEFFIANTLY go through it all again!
