Well, Where to begin?? My cousin has had her tongue pierced for about a year and a half now and she LOVES it! I have always worked at a dentist office and my Uncle is a dentist also. I am just a "normal good girl" no tattoos or piercings! I said I would never think of doing it because of infections and the way it looked and what people would say.Well, a couple weeks ago I started thinking about piercing my tongue mainly NOW because I am not working only going to school so I would not have a problem with swelling and looks right now. I am a BIG BABY and no one though I would actually do it. My mom was like yea sure go ahead do IT and my cousin said the same thing. A week ago tomorrow I went to pick up my cousin and we headed to the beach... My cousin was going to pay for my piercing because she was so proud of me! It was amazing everything was happening as if it were meant to be. There is never parking in South Beach, but that night we drove up and there was a parking spot right in front of the studio. We went in it was about 2 AM and there was a group of guys and girls doing their tongues and noses pierced. I was starting to get nervous, it was taking so long BUT my cousin wouldn't let me leave. She paid in advance So I wouldn't be able to LEAVE. The guy looked like a freak and I couldn't believe I was actually there. We sat in a couch and waited for the piercer to finish.Once we started he had me rinse my mouth with that nasty yellow anti-septic mouthwash and it kinda numbed my tongue also he asked me to close my eyes and stick out my tongue. My cousin was taking pics so she couldn't hold my hand. I was so nervous that the piercer's girlfriend came to hold my hand she was very sweet. He clamped my tongue and I didn't feel a THING!! It was incredible. BUT I have a VERY short tongue so he had a hard time closing the barbell. It bled for a sec and I rinsed again and that was it. I was kinda freaked out I had actually put a hole in my tongue. His girlfriend went to get me a cup with ice and told me to start sucking on it right away and to go buy Listerine!Right after we finished we went to this diner that we always go to. I wanted a shake so bad but the waitress which is our friend had her tongue pierced before too and told me ice cold coca-cola was the best thing to drink. So I drank about 8 cokes that night and it took me an hour exactly to eat 2 scrambled eggs. It was a mission to eat I couldn't eat the bread or anything; I was so scared to chew. The next morning was horrible. My tongue was so swollen I couldn't talk or eat. I just drank water, chewed ice, drank soda and ate ice cream. For dinner I would have soup. I couldn't chew a thing it hurt so much. I've been eating chicken soup every night and McDonald's vanilla ice cream. I sound like a dork when I go to the drive thru

and ask for a PLAIN sundae!! But it's so refreshing! Today I started to chew the chicken in the soup instead of putting it in the blender. I brush my teeth like 4 times a day and use the mouth wash. I am also using gly-oxide and my tongue feels so good when I put it on. It's healing nicely because I went back to where I had it done and asked them to check it for me. They said everything was great. Today the swelling is down now it's just a little swollen around the ball. I love it though. The hole is still a little wide but my cousin told me it will close up with time. It's just not visible when I speak because it's a little far back. I think it's too far back but he couldn't do it closer because my tongue is so short. BUT, I didn't want it to be seen so easily anyway. As soon as I can change it I am going to put a gold barbell with a flat bottom, which is adorable. I can't wait to change it and I can't wait to use my new PIERCING =)I will not get anything else pierced, I just have my earings and my cartilidge and now my tongue but I will not do anything else. I do want a tattoo and I was looking them while I was waiting for my piercing. So that will be my next adventure LOL!!To anyone who is scared of a tongue piercing all I can say IS there IS no bigger baby than ME and I didn't feel a thing!! So GO for it and you'll never be sorry!!Happy Piercing =)
