I never really was a big fan in piercings when I was younger. I had to get my ears done like four times cause I always insisted upon always taking out. Finally years later on my 14th birthday I wanted to get my ears double pierced. It was just the "thing to do." After having that for about a year I took them out. I was just an ass when it came to that.

Oh my god I never seen anything really like this but it was so amazing. I couldn't stop thinking about it. More and more people I met had their tongue pierced. And I knew it! I wanted to get my tongue pierced! Now I knew my Mom and dad would never dig this and money was just a pain for me.
A few months later after looking up info on piercings I felt that I could do this myself. I love a challenge and no one would believe it if I did it. So a few weeks before my 19th birthday I went to the local mall to buy two tongue rings both 14 gage. My shopping list consists of:
2 tongue rings
A HUGE! safety pin (From Wal-MartŪ)
Rubber Gloves
Rubbing Alcohol
2 Litter Bottle of Listerine (Thats a Plus!)
2 cups
And shampoo..oh opps thats not on there! Sowwy!
Well, here is step by step what I did when I got home.
1) Take the rubbing alcohol and pour into a cup and place the tongue rings and the safety pin in the cup and let it set over night.
2) Next day put on the rubber gloves and say my prayers
3) Rinse mouth out with listerine
4) Don't back out!
After doing all that I wasn't really that scared but still had a fear. Ya after reading a few stories of how someone f@ckin up their tongue and dying it would freak you out! I stood there a few minutes looking at the mirror for a bit and finally got started. I took the tongue rings and unscrewed them and placed them on the towel I had laid out and took the safety pin and popped it open. Now I then rolled my tongue back to where it was touching behind the back of my front teeth to where I could see my veins under my tongue.
"Okay this is it!" I said to myself. I took the safety pin and started to go in. That first little part of the skin hurt alittle but not so bad. Finally I got half way in and I knew I had to finish the job! Then BAM!! I heard a pop and it was threw. I stood there with a huge safety pin sticking out of my tongue. I picked up one of the tongue rings and as soon as I pulled the pin out I slid the barbell in and screwed it in! Oh my god I did it!! YAY!!!! I rinsed my mouth out once again with listerine just to be on the safe side. I removed my gloves and threw them away. I then put on another pair for my gloves for the second piercing.
***OH I FORGOT TO SAY DON'T EVER EVER DO THIS...I DON'T KNOW WHY I DID IT TO THIS DAY!***
Within a 5 minute wait and built up I was ready to do it again. What the hell was I thinking!
I got ready again and washed off the safety pin *Breathe in breathe out!* "Here goes nothin!" On the count of three I was already half way in and already out! Not as hard as first time! So I then reached down to get the barbell. I slid the pin out and started to put the barbell in. "OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP!! I LOST THE HOLE!!" Without thinking and all running through my head is "I HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN!!!!" So I took the needle and did it again! finally!!! I got the barbell in and rinsed my mouth out like a million times! After about the twelfth time of rinsing my mouth out and being sick of the taste I went to go lay down.
The next day at class I was talking to my friend all lispy and swollen as well sore from the night before. She had asked my why I am talking so funny. So I did the best I could at sticking my tongue out and she scream at the top of her lungs "OH MY GOD! You have two!?!?!?". I nodded, turned around and patted myself on my back for a job well done. I was so happy! About a month and a half later no more sores and no more swelling I was heeled!! YAYYYYY!!!!!
Later on that year I did my ears 7 times. I now have in each hole in my lower ear a 12gage yet my upper ear is a 10 gage. But I must say I have found a passion in piercings!
I wanna add a personal note. Don't do this at home it is very dangerous! To this day my mom and dad don't know I did it myself and I plan on keeping it that way. And finally I want to thank my friend Grave for giving me an interest that I love!
Thanks for reading!
