I've wanted to get my tongue pierced for years.. maybe since I was 13 or 14. I've really wanted to get it done. 5 days after I turned 18 I went with my friends to finally go get it done. They had had their tongues pierced 2 days before and that just made me want to go get it done even more. So during my lunch period at school.. they took me to go get it done.

I was nervous, SOO nervous. I don't like needle whatsoever so i was really doubting myself that i'd actually follow through with this. I filled out the sheet i had to.. and picked out which barbell i wanted..This made me even more nervous. And this was the point where I asked if my friends could come in with me too. They did.. thank god!
So he sat my down on this table/bed thingy and started talking to me. This made me feel so much better. The guy who pierced my tongue.. and i don't remember my name was really good. He told me about everything, the whole procedure, and how i have to take care of it afterwards. This calmed me right down. My one friend was sitting right beside me so that when it was 'time' i could hold her hand. *yeah i'm a wimp*
So.. he froze my tongue.. and i really starting to get nervous.. And before I knew it.. it was over. I was fine.. i took a drink of water.. and I looked at my friend.. and said.. "i really don't feel good" and bang.. i passed out! According to my friends i passed out twice.. Did i ever feel like a total jack ass. I was the first person to EVER pass out at this place.. THANK YOU!!
I went home that night.. and had to go to work.. yeah it wasn't the best thing ever. I had the hardest time ever talking. And the fact that the guy said i couldn't eat solid food or anything hot for 3 days really got to me. I thought i had made the biggest mitake ever. I love food.. so you know.. it's hard for someone not to eat food when they love it! =) And of course..i work in a restaurant.. andit was my favourite soup ever on.. cream of mushroom.. *YUM* So all i could do was smell it and pretend my ice was soup.. I used listerine like 10 times a day.. I WAS NOT about to let the damn thing get infected. THe next morning.. my tongue was so swollen.. and it hurt like hell.. I was really regretting what I had done. I couldn't talk because it hurt too much. I went to school and didn't talk.. i didn't eat i could only drink water.. Buti didnt have to work that night.. so it was all good. I was so hungry and so cranky.. I really wanted to take it out. The next day it was the same.. I took midol, listerined my mouth.. and pused that took cream to numb my damn tongue.. nothing was really working. I was SOO HUNGRY.. and i was in pain.. I coul dhave almost cried. The friday after I had gotten it done was the day that i could finally eat. I was soo excited. My friends went to Burger King.. and i really wanted fries.. so that's what I had.. with gravy.. and mayo.. Fried with mayo is soo good. =) So i tried eating.. yeah right!! it took me almost an hour to eat a medium fry.. even still i wasn't totally finished.. My teeth hurt so much from clenching down on them when i slept.. It hurt to drink too.. But at least i could eat my fries!! Slowly.. but still.. they tasted sooo good! I loved it!
By this time i was still really frustrated with my tongue. it really hurt still.. an dit was till really swollen. I couldn't stick my tongue out and that made me even more mad. I had to work that night andthe more I talked the more my mouth hurt.. and of course.. we were busy at the restaurant that night so i had to talk A LOT! grr.. Slowly my tongue got better and the pain went away.. it wasn't until about a month after i had gotten my tongue pierced that all the pain actually went away.
It's been 3 months since i got my tongue pierced now.. and I'm loving every minute of it.. I'm such a chicken though.. when i frist changed my tongue ring i almost passed out. I really don't have a very strong stomach! And i want to get mroe piercings.. ha yeah right!
