not as bad as i thought

hi,my name is debbie and im 32 yrs old.when i first saw people with body piercings and tattoos i thought they were nasty.but about a year ago i changed my mind.

i got my first body piercing in tampa florida,i had my belly button done.i had to take it out about 6 months later though.i could never get it to heal right.i was told they pierced it too deep.

on christmas eve of this year me,my b/f,his nephew and 2 of his friends went to nc to buy some beer since you cant buy it on sundays in sc.we are in myrtle beach sc.you cant get any piercings in myrtle beach but you can in north myrtle beach .thats weird i know but its the law.we saw a place that did piercing.me and the nephew had been wanting to get our tongue done for awhile.we stopped and he went first.he didnt even flinch or anything when the needle went thru.

i was so nervous that when i had to fill the form out my writing looked like chicken scratch.the guy told me not to worry that things would be ok and that it didnt hurt.

finally my turn came he had me to rinse my mouth out with blue listerine..i sit down he had me to stick my tongue out,he made sure it was gonna be ok to pierce,he put a bib on me for all the drool,i stuck my tongue out again so he could dry it off,then he clamped it.to me that was the worse part.after he had it where he wanted it he put the needle thru.all i felt was a little prick.i couldnt believe it !!!!!!!!i thought it was gonna hurt really bad.

after everything was over nad i put my tongue back in my mouth i started gagging,i guess cause i wasnt use to it.im ok now.

its really hard to eat with it in.we went to applebees afterwards.you see we hadnt planned on getting our tongues done that night it was a spur of the moment thing so i didnt get a chance to eat.i had soup and a salad that night the salad was the hard part;i never did finish it.

the next morning when i got up it wasnt as swollen as i thought it would be,it was sore though and today is my 3rd day since having it done.i can eat a little better ,but it takes awhile.i suggest eating things like soup,mashed potatoes.ive also been using a spoon to eat anything ts just easier to slide a spoon in the side of your mouth then a fork.

when i told my family my dad said i cant believe you done that and that was all he said,my nieces cant wait to see it.they love my tatoos. i have some yucky white stuff on my tongue,but i was told it was just dead skin cells and it would stop my speech was messed up just a little but thats ok i love my tongue piercing.i cant wait for it to heal so i can get something smaller cause this bar does get in the way.oh yea ive had a excess of spit and i giess its cause the bottom ball is pushing on my glands.

i also have two tattoos;both are on the top of my legs.i have a dolphin on the right and winnie the pooh on the left.i plan on getting more.i want to get my boyfriends name on my lower back in chinese letters,taz on my hip and some kind of tat in memory of my baby girl that died.

i recommend getting your tongue pierced to anyone that wants it done.it really doesnt hurt.my belly piercing hurt worse then my tongue..my boyfriend really likes it.though he cant wait for it to heal cause we cant kiss till its healed!!no oral sex either!!if you decide to get your tongue done make sure you keep it clean.im using listerine(blue),gly oxide,and i also rinse with warm salt water.stay away from spicy foods cause it will burn when you eat the stuff.drink plenty of ice water or suck on ice.ive been drinking lots of ice tea.oh and dont drink anything with carbernation in it it will cause your tongue too burn also.
