It's been about one week since i had to take my tongue piercing out. The whole experience lasted about 11 weeks untill i decided that it was not working. My tongue wasn't healing and i had spend way too much time and effort on trying to make something work that wasn't done properly. What makes me really mad is that i've wanted a tongue piercing for about 2 years and it didn't really go the way i wanted it too.Let me start at the beginning... I wanted to get a tongue piercing when a friend of mine had gotten it about 2 years ago. i didn't even know there something like a tongue piercing existered before. Once seeing it i found the idea very appealing and decided it was the right thing for me. I went to get my tongue piercing done on Sepember 11, i had just turned 18 the week before. i was really excited and all, i don't mind pain, so was just happy about getting someting done that i wanted for so long. It was a Monday and i wanted to go to Blut & Eisen, a tattoo/piercing studio that is really good and i had been there before to check it out. The thing was that i had forgotten that they didn't open on Monday's and a friend of mine then told me she knew there was one close to her house and it was supposed to be okay. i had check out bme before so i knew going to a GOOD studio was a thing of major importance. So, off i want to this Studio with two of my friends. The studio looked okay i guess, i looked around for any signs of uncleanness etc. , but thought it was okay. First i was told to rinse my mouth with listerine (cool mint) in this weird bathroom. it didn't seem too professional to me but i didn't want to stop once i had come this far. Then the lady had me sit in this chair and sprayed numbing spray on my tongue and off she went. It hurt, and i remember she had all the barbells in this weird box, not in seperate packages.
After the piercing i was told to buy listerine and was given a small, very unclear list of what to eat and what not to eat. After the first week the swelling didn't go away and i was a little afraid. I had always rinsed with listerine and thougt it was a bad sign. I waited another week and went back to the studio and asked the lady what was wrong, she said that everything was okay. i left, i couldn't confince her if she didn't (want to) believe me. Another thing that i thought was very weird was that my piercing wasn't straight in the tongue, it was very tilted and more on the left side then the middel at the bottom. After 4 weeks of still having a pussing swollen tongue i went to a different studio and they told me that it was pierced wrong and gave me some more things i could buy to make it better. i used these and it got better but still wouldn't heal completley. After another couple of weeks i went back to the sudio i had it made at and told the lady that it was not healing. She took a look at it and said: not it's healed. I'm thinking : you stupid bitch! She wouldn't hear a word of what i had to say, trying to confince me it was healed and that she was the queen of the universe. Bullshit. Then she shoved a shorter barbell into my tongue which hurt like hell. This was after 8 weeks after the piecing was done. All in all my tongue was still swolleden and there was this hard tissue around the piercing that wouldn't go away and puss was still coming out of my tongue.
I then waited 3 more weeks trying to convince myself that nothing was wrong and that it would heal. Finally i decied enough was enough and i took it out, i had had enough pain and misery. I remeber my friends telling me that hadn't used listerine etc. as long as i had and that they were really surprised that is wasn't healing. All in all i am very pissed off at the supid lady, i hope she falls and breaks a leg, but i have not given up on my wish for a tongue piercing. I'm going to save up enough money and try again. If anyone know any REALLY good studios in Berlin, please e-mail me and tell me.
WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!
p.s a little tip: PLEASE try to find a decent studio!
