once, twice, third times a charm??

Well,...to start off, I had wanted my tongue pierced for a long long time, but my Mom was very against it. I looked up everything that I could on the piercing that I could and eventually found this page. It was very helpful. All the expierences and pictures help convince my mom that My tongue would not fall off. Finally we agreed that I could get it done when I turned 16, which was 6 months away!!

Anyway, the 6 months went by very very very slowly, of course. but the day finally arrived. I didn't get it done on my Birthday because my girlfriend wanted to go with me, and she couldn't go on that day because she had to work. It was about a week after my birthday when I finally got to go. Me and my girlfriend rode with my Mom because I knew I was probably not going to be able to drive afterwards.

When we got to the shop, they were all really nice to me. I had watched someone else get the same thing done so I knew pretty much what was going to happen. The guy at the counter was the one who was going to pierce me so me and him talked for a while. He reassured me that there was nothing to it because he had just gotten his done a week prior. Well, after some paperwork, I went into the back room and sat down in the chair, everything looked very sterile so I was not worried. He gave me some listerine and told me to wash with it for a minute. It tasted pretty bad..yuck... After that he told me to stick out my tongue so he could clamp it. I had heard this was the worst part, but for some reason it wasn't very tight on my tongue at all, but I had faith in that he knew what he was doing.

He told me to breath in and out a few times and on the third time he would push the needle through. In..out...In...Out...In...Ouch!!...well..not really...the piercing definitely hurt more than the clamp, but it wasn't that bad at all. My Girlfriend told me that I didn't move at all. Well, I washed with listerine again, paid, and he sent me on my way. When I went to visit my dad we wasn't to trilled at all. He told me he never wanted to see it or he would rip it out.I felt so loved. Anyways, I did all that he told me to for healing, but after 2 weeks, someone told a teacher at my school and I had to take it out...I was very VERY upset about this. But my Mom told me that we could get it done again after it healed.

Well..about a month later we were down in Panama City and I asked if I could get it done again and after a day of thinking about it she agreed. We picked one of the shops down there that looked the cleanest. Everything was pretty much the same until it came down to the actually piercing. When the girl that was piercing it started she must have pierced it in a different spot because all I could feel was a very sharp pain and I could feel blood Trickling out of my mouth. Luckily my Mom wasn't there because she would have freaked. Well..when she finally pierced my tongue It was very sore, but Luckily it wasn't bleeding much anymore. She put the barbell in and then tried explaining that it wasn't her fault for it bleeding and that it was the scar tissue from the last piering..Yeah..whatever.

Well..when we got back to our room my tongue was swollen pretty big and was hurting a lot. I told my Mom what happened and after about an hour my Mom was getting worried and we decided that I should it out. We figured it wasn't sterilized very well because the place wasn't a full piercing place, that was just part of the store. So I don't think they had much experience doing this stuff.

We haven't really discussed re-piercing my tongue again. I'm not sure if I want to anymore. I've gotten my nipples pierced since then at the shop that I had originally got my tongue pierced. For some reason My Mom didn't care nearly as much about the nipples as she did at first about my tongue. I want to get a few more things done in the future, but I'm not sure if My Mom will let me, I'm very surprised that my Mom has let me do what I've done so far. But you never know.
