Well, I've wanted to get my tongue pierced for about 3 years, but only just started thinking seriously about it. When I asked my mom, at first it was a flat out now. Eventually, after a few weeks of begging, she said yes, but I had to pay for it with my own money. So....I started saving. I called the only good piercing place near me, called, Spiritualized Body Arts and found out some things. I found out it was going to be $65, jewelry included and I found out the piercer's name was Mike. Well, at that time I only had $43...so I set out to find/make the other $22 I needed. My friend Beth and I came up with this brilliant idea of having a yard sale. We went to my room and got about everything I wanted (was allowed) to sell. The first day no one bought anything. After a few days, my mom had gotten a bunch of other stuff out to make the sale bigger so more people would stop. One day, a lady stopped and bought two of my lamps and a bunch of my clothes. Well, she spent about $20, so I only needed two more bucks!! You're probably thinking....PIECE OF CAKE....NOT! I never imagined finding two bucks could be such a pain in the butt!!! Finally, after finding penny after penny, my sister giving me some loose change and raiding my piggy bank, I had the $65 I needed!!!! I called the shop and found out their hours and planned on getting my tongue pierced on Tuesday at noon. It was only Sunday at the time, so I was trying SO hard to occupy myself and not think about Tuesday. IT WAS SO HARD! I was soooo excited. I was even nice to both my sisters ALL DAY MONDAY!! (That's a huge accomplishment!!)
Well, Tuesday FINALLY came. We went to Spiritualized Body Arts and the piercer, named Mike took me in this very clean, white room. He had me sit down in this chair that looked like a mix between a dentists chair and an oversized lawn chair. He put on rubber gloves, put a standard 14g barbell in sterilizer and opened a brand new set of clamps and brand new needle. He told me to stick my tongue out. When I did he commented on how long it was! I laughed, and he laughed and my friend Sierra, who came with me started cracking up. Then he wiped my tongue off with paper towels and marked it on the top and bottom with a blue permanent marker. I looked in the mirror and it was all good. At that time I GOT EXTREMELY NERVOUS. So nervous, I actually grabbed Mike's leg!! I swear I thought it was the arm of the chair!!!!! He told me to relax and breath very slowly. He clamped my tongue and told me once again to relax. Then all of a sudden I felt a little prick on the top of my tongue and then I felt the needle drop on my lap and he said he was screwing on the bottom ball! IT WAS OVER WITH OUT THE SLIGHTEST OF PAIN! It didn't hurt one bit! Then Mike and I talked about the aftercare and he instructed me to suck on tons of ice and rinse with Listerine after I ate or drank ANYTHING for two weeks. He also told me to get an antiseptic called, Gly-Oxide and to put it on, twice a day.
I WAS FINALLY PIERCED!!!! My friend Sierra and I were talking about how it looked after ward. She said the needle looked like a knife going through melted butter. That's how easy it went through. There was no resistance at all. I had a pretty bad lisp for a couple days. My tongue only swelled once and that was the morning after (Wednesday morning) and it was only for about 20 minutes, then the swelling went away. It's now 5 days after and I LOVE MY TONGUE! It's so cool. I constantly play with it! I can't keep it in my mouth! LOL I am still Listerining and Gly-Oxiding. It feels great and I can eat anything I want. My advice for anyone who wants to get their tongue done is GO FOR IT. You can even hide it! Only one person who I haven't shown has noticed it. It's great and very fun!!! My lover-boy, Justin, can't wait till the 6 week waiting period is up...so we can try it out on something else.....LOL. If you know what I mean. Well, my eyebrow is next...but my tongue is defiantly my favorite piercing so far!!! So if you have ANY questions for me, what-so-ever...feel free to E-Mail me at Speedo3384@aol.com!! I'd even love to just chat!!!
IF YOU WANT IT DONE...GO FOR IT!!! IT'S AS EASY AS MELTED BUTTER!!!!!
