Ok, so it all started when I was about 11 when I first decided to get my left ear pierced, I had this piercing about a year before I started stretching it. I had seen people around my town center with them and on the television and I thought they were awesome however was scared of the consequences e.g splitting or tearing or it just all going horrifically wrong. First I started taking the usual stages, 1.2mm, 1.6mm 2mm 2.4mm 3mm and so on and so forth. After about a year of stretching safely I got really tired of having to buy new stretchers, I was at about 6mm at this time and got a tunnel and decided to leave it at that.

Then I moved up to upper school and I got told to take it out every single day, I got countless amounts of tunnels and stretchers taken off me because the teachers are all really stuck up and annoying and think they are gross so naturally, my tunnel shrunk. I was alternating between 3-6mm for aaages. Then the summer holidays came and I took advantage of that which was my first bad move. In the 6 weeks that we all had off, I went from 4mm to 10mm, which at the time did not cause a problem. (I did not know anything about stretching and just thought you could go as you please). So when i went back to school, of course I got told to take it out but this time I remembered to ask for my plug back so my tunnel never shrunk. I left it two-three more years before I dared to do anything more to it, because I thought I thought if I did go any bigger the teachers would be a little angry at me and take it off me again. The end of year 11 came and another set of summer holidays was upon us but I did not do anything with my ears because I did not know how the college I was going to would react to it.

On my first day at the college, I met my friend jerry who, at the time had 25mm ears, to me this was huge. (he is now at 40mm). I gradually got the confidence to talk to him more about ears and how he stretched his and that the teachers did not care about his. so finally I realized that I was able to get bigger and bigger lobes and no one could stop me, second mistake. i instantly thought that i was unstoppable with stretching and that i could to what i loved doing.

I went from 10mm to 20mm in the following months (I did not know anything about blow outs, I now know 2mm a month is best). This was about 1mm a week which thought was alright. I stuck with 20mm for a while but me being as competitive as I am, watching jerry accelerate ahead of me with stretching, made me want bigger and bigger lobes. I asked if I got get some plugs off him (because I did not know about body art forms) I got a 22mm a 24mm a 25mm and A 30mm. By the time I got to 25 I had a nasty 5mm lip hanging off the back of my ear, to me this was normal, jerry did not say a word because my hair was covering it. Then I made a STUPID massive jump from 25mm to 30, I took the plug out and tugged on my lobe until it was stretched enough to go in, needless to say, it bled, lots, I woke up the following morning with a crusty neck, face, pillow, it was grotesque, it looked more like id been shot in the ear.

This made my blowout bigger.

I now struggled to find any plugs wide enough to go on my ear. I talked to jerry about what had happened and he called me an idiot. fair point. He then told me about massaging extra virgin olive oil into my ear to shrink it and make my lobes healthy again, I obliged and did lots of research on how to make my ears healthy and safer ways of stretching. Now, three months on i still have a small blowout and my ears are a lot thicker and healthier, but it has shrunk a lot, so a piece of advice to everyone else, you should really stretch according to what the above says to get the best ears. Now, every day I sleep with my tunnels out, massage them morning and night, clean all of my piercings, before this accident I did not realize the importance of keeping piercings clean, I just thought it was pierce it, leave it, if you think that, YOUR WRONG. Take care and stretch safely.
