Hi guys
At A Glance Author Charlie-R Contact Charlie-R@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Rob I think Studio Ringmaster Location Isle of Wight, England I'm 17 and live on the Isle of Wight, Southeast England but I wasn't allowed
I have never got a piercing before and I have always wanted one, when I was about 7 I was going to get my lobes done but I wasn't allowed because my parents are strict.
Fast forward about 10 years, I really want my lip pierced and have done for quite some time, unfortunately because I need a job and because of school I can get it done. But I had work my self up to get my first piercing, I wanted it so bad, and I decided that a ear piercing would be best as it is easier for school and work, however I didn't know on the exact placement.
I had done a lot of research into piercing and mainly lip piercings using bmezine.com as a key web site; coincidentally I had come across the various types of ear piercings as a result. I thought that theses looked pretty cool, and planned to get an ear piercing after my lip.
The day before I actually had the piercing done I was in town with a few mates so popped into ringmaster, which I had hurt is the best studio on the island, to enquire about a lip piercing. Although I secretly knew I couldn't get it done but while we were in there a few people in front getting their tragus pierced. So one of my friends decided she wanted her tragus pierced, we checked out the price went to the bank and returned to ringmaster so she could get to done, I watched the procedure knowing full well what I wanted, I wanted a piercing and I wanted one bad!
I'm got a great fan of lobe piercing, I think they would look a little stupid on me and would not suit me, so I decided to get a cartilage piercing. But which one? There is so many. I originally wanted a rook or a daith, something in that area of the ear but I was worried that it was a bit too complicated to get done as a fist piercing. So I decided on a good looking but simpler piercing, and I chose the inner helix, forward helix, curl piercing, call it what you will, it is the piece of cartilage on the helix closest the head and to the ear canal, just above a daith, this piercing also worked out cheaper, an added bonus.
So after hours of walking round town considering it, freaking out and thinking heavily about it I went down to ask the piercer about it, with a group of friends. I then left again, and several hours later I was still worrying about this, but I got up the courage and went in, I asked him to get the piercing done, singed the forms and sat on the piercing bench. I know what your think, pretty wimpy but I was really nervous, my first piercing and that.
So I sat on the bench, and had my friend with me, the piercer, I think his name is Rob, put on gloves and cleaned out my ear. He then put mark where I was to have it done, which he showed me in a mirror, which I thought looked really good. So he numbed the area, I chose the jewellery, a lovely curved barbell. So he got the needle out and as he was chatting to my friend and I casually, putting me right at ease, he pushed the needle thought my ear, and it didn't hurt what so ever, it felt like a small injection, with a little bit of pushing behind it. Before I had it done I had been pinching my ear as hard as I can imagining the pain but it was nothing like that, but didn't hurt at all. I cant really talk much more about the procedure, it was so quick simple and painless.
When he fitted the jewellery there was no pain either, the whole thing was almost pain free, which was brilliant, a brilliant looking piercing with little pain, what a bargain! Rob then talked me through cleaning, tips, helps and gave me a sheet on aftercare, which also was a copy of my consent form. I paid and left, easy as that. Once the numbing cream wore off it ached a little, not anything near as much as I thought it would hurt.
I have plans for more piercings now, anyone who is considering getting a piercing, go for it, it doesn't hurt one bit and I love my new inner helix it looks amazing and Rob did such a great job I just hope that t doesn't get infected or whatever, it didn't even bleed so I hope all goes well. It's been a few days and as of yet no blood no crusties nothing so fingers crossed. Thank you to rob at Ringmaster and thanks for reading.
