Okay so,

Last St. Patrick's Day I woke up, hung-over, thinking to myself, "Man. I want my ears pierced". So, I went to my dad and said, "Hey Dad lets go get my lobes pierced". He reluctantly agreed, thinking that that would be the end of that. We went to a shop called Nomis (my dad knew the owner) and asked to get my lobes pierced. He said I was 13 so I needed ID. So obviously I didn't have any, leading to mistake number one.

We went over to Claire's (yes, the cheap plastic jewelry store for girls) in the mall and got my lobes gunned my right lobe was pierced EXTREMELY low because the lady who did it apparently missed her smoke break. But my left was perfectly done. I realize now that I should have taken out the right one, but I was way too proud of my new piercings to care too badly. She also gave me the wrong studs (pretty little diamonds rather than some regular tiny little steel studs) and I got made fun of for about 6 weeks until my lobes healed. Halfway through they developed a slight infection, but I was too stupid to take them out. Otherwise they healed fine as far as gunned piercings go.

I decided just getting my lobes pierced was stupid looking, so I decided to stretch them. After months of begging my mom and showing research that it comes back at certain sizes, she finally caved in and let me get an 8g. My friend John at the time had one poorly stretched 0g ear which he had dead stretched, skipped sizes with, and used poorly made plugs. So I relied on him to help me stretch because he knew nothing, but I knew less. Well all he had was two 10g horseshoes. So being the intelligent man I am, I rammed them through a relatively new, 20g, piercing on the last day of school. Bleeding all over the place, I got sent home from school for self-mutilation on school property. After that I decided to do research on how to actually stretch.

I bought some 8g acrylic tapers off bodyartforms.com and rammed them through after a week at a 10. It hurt like hell. I then proceeded to take out the tapers and cut the ends off. I called those my ghetto plugs. I did more research and discovered that there was a certain time period between stretches so after I memorized the times I snuck around and stretched up to a 6g after 2 months of being at 8g. It was a very good stretch. I used a very nice Industrial Strength steel taper. My lobes were happy for the first time since I had them pierced. I wore the taper around because I didn't have money for plugs because I had been totally spent on these super expensive tapers. Those messed up my lobes and made me have crooked holes because they were so heavy and long. I got the itch to stretch again after about 2 weeks. So against her better judgment, my mom let me have 4g. I bought some shitty acrylic tapers off BAF again and stretched with them. That was a BIG FUCKING MISTAKE. It was a miserable stretch and back then I didn't know that blowouts were out of the ordinary. I bled all over my room but kept them in because I'm stupid. After a day or two the bleeding stopped completely and I had a nice pretty blowout hanging off the back of my ear. I stayed there for about a month until I snuck around again and got a 2g taper and stretched up. Essentially I did that all the way up to 0g.

I bought some 0g coke can looking plugs with 00g flares and they had this weird part poking off the back of them. I guess it was there to make it look more like a coke can from the back, I'm not really sure. But I shoved them through after a day at 0g and they were totally stuck in there. After 2 weeks at 0g I decided I was going to be a 00g to one-up my friend John. I got some 00g single flare eyelets off BAF and turned the coke cans plugs around and used the flares as a taper and that little part poking off the end as something to keep the eyelet in place so it wouldn't move around when I pushed it through. It hurt like hell. As you could imagine my blowouts were pretty good sized by this time. Also all of this poor stretching was causing my right lobe to migrate downward. So I decided I was a big enough size and my mom finally noticed they were a shitload bigger, but she let me have 00g but I could never stretch again. I was perfectly happy with this. Until 3 months later when I wanted to stretch again. By this time I knew EXACTLY what I was doing and I knew how to stretch my lobes perfectly. I was embarrassed of my lobes to no end because I knew I could have done them so much better.

Well I was in Hot Topic and noticed they were selling ½" tapers, but not 7/16". I knew that 7/16" was where I needed to go to, but I was dumb and thought to myself "oh, I've waited so long that my lobes should be loose enough to go right to ½"". I knew it was stupid, I knew I shouldn't have, but I did anyway. I rammed this unsanitary acrylic taper from Hot Topic through my earlobe right in the middle of the mall. It tore the hell out of the inside of my lobes and made my blowouts worse. It was miserable to sleep with because it hurt so badly, but my mom didn't notice the difference somehow so I left them in, thinking I had made some accomplishment. 3 days later I had an infected blowout. My dumb ass left them in and waited it out. Everything cleared up but my blowouts were bigger than ever and they were absolutely putrid looking.

Christmas rolled around and my loving girlfriend got me some ½" green titanium double flared plugs. I fell in love with these and wore them almost every day. But my mom noticed after a month they were bigger. I convinced her that they were 00g with MASSIVE flares. She bought it. So I thought that I could get away with anything by just saying it had huge flares. I waited around and about a month ago (February) I decided to go to 5/8" because my buddy Alex had just stretched to ¾" and had a lot of 5/8" plugs. I decided one more size couldn't hurt. I had some single flared ½" eyelets at the time and I used those to tape up because now that my mom knew I was sneaking around buying shit online. I wasn't trusted with money or her credit card without her looking at what I was buying first, so I couldn't get nice tapers like I wanted. I stretched up as fast as I could against my better judgment and it once again, made my blowouts worse and my right ear thinner. They healed, sort of. So I went to Hot Topic with some money I got from doing chores to buy some 5/8" plugs so I wasn't walking around with a taped up plug in my ear (I couldn't wear any of Alex's old plugs. They had huge flares.)

So I now have some big, fucked up looking, 5/8" lobes. My right one looks like its ready to snap. I currently have double flared plugs in that I can't get out because I forced them in. Take this example and pretty much do the opposite. I knew better than this, but all I cared about was having the biggest lobes around. I implore you to never ever do this. This is the way that a lot of people are stretching now and I hate to be another one of the majority with terrible earlobes. Do not take this as someone saying "I did it this way and so can you".
