I've been wanting an industrial piercing since august. It is now January 21.I couldn't find anywhere that would actually do it for me. Since I am 14 and the age limit is 16 with a parent and 18 without one. But my mom decided to buy a new fridge and the place she looked at was next to the tattoo shop. I went in and asked them how much it would be and if I could actually get it done. They said it would cost 70 dollars and as long as I had my parent and my birth certificate. The people at the desk seemed very nice.

So, the next day(yesterday)I got my mom to take me back to the tattoo shop. It was quite clean in there and they had nice seating and magazines. We only had a short wait and then the piercer came out and told us to come on back. My friend was with me and I asked her to come back with me so I wouldn't get too paranoid.
We walked back into the piercing room. I looked around the room of course, it was sort of small but very clean looking. He told me to sit in this nice dentist like chair and he raised it up to his height so he would have less difficulty piercing me. My piercer cleaned my ear with some sort of soap and showed me the variety of industrial bars I could choose. I picked a black one that he said would fit my ear better than the longer one that I had brought in from home. I was talking on and on as I usually do when Im nervous. I was going on and on about random things like how I would take care of my other piercings. He set the 14g industrial barbel and a 14g needle onto a little stand type of thing next to me which was very sanitary. I watched him open the needle package, clean the needle off, clean the barbel off, and set them back down.
He took a purple marking marker and marked the spots. Made sure the bar would fit. The piercer picked up the needle, told me it would sting and feel hot and he pierced the first hole. I'm not going to lie, it didn't feel good. It wasn't horrible though. He told me he had to pierce it slowly because he needs to make sure that the position is right and also he needed to pierce both holes with one needle so he had to make sure it was correctly lined up for that. He pierced the second hole which hurt less, which makes me think he did the upper cartilage first. The actually piercing hurt somewhat but I didn't really feel him pull out the needle and put the bar in. My cartilage is also pretty thick so mine might have been worse than others. He then gave me H2Ocean which is a salt water spray that is easy to use. He gave me the instructions and told me to let the spray air dry and not to touch or turn my industrial. He also told me to never use peroxide or alcohol on any piercings because it dries your skin and doesn't work as well as the sea salt mix. He also gave me a little baggy of sea salt and told me I could just mix that with water if I run out of spray. He told me that if the bar gets too tight or I'm feeling uncomfortable with the length of the bar to just come back in and he will switch it to a longer bar until it heals and then I can go back and he will put the smaller one back in for free also. I looked in a mirror and i thought it looked great.I agreed to all of the procedures and caring of the piercing, my mom paid and we left.My mom was so happy with the cleanliness and the pricing of the place she decided she wants a tattoo from there. I also want to go back for my next piercing which might be 2 piercings on the left side of my nose and a madonna. I have had no problem with it, it doesn't hurt at all,I even slept on it last night.
I am very happy with my new piercing.(i also have snakebites) If you are thinking about getting this piercing, go for it. It didn't hurt horribly and I didn't hear any pops or crunches that people told me I would hear. The only problem is when your hair gets stuck to it or you accidently hit it. Even if you do accidently hit it, it only stings for a second. And it looks great.=]
