When I was 6 months old I got my first lobe piercing. I don't really remember what it felt like, cause I was a baby. I never really had an interest in any other piercing. 6 months ago, I got my second hole and my cartilage done, just cause I thought it would look cool. I didn't really think it hurt or anything. After that, I starting looking around cause I got really interested in piercing. I saw an industrial and immediately fell in love with it.

I don't really know many people with it done, but one of the girls I work with has it. We were talking about it, and I guess she convinced me to get it done. Since I was already interested in it, it was just another push to get it done. My moms pretty cool with stuff like that (she did her own cartilage right after I got mine done), so I asked her, cause I'm only 16. She said it was fine, but I just needed to wait till my first cartilage piercing healed all the way.

A couple weeks later, my best friend got her belly button pierced. So now I wanted that done. I think those look really cool too. My mom was totally against that, cause in high school, her best friends got really infected. Even though I tried, she wasn't gonna let me get it done. But maybe one day (when I'm 18) I'll get that done.

So once again I stared looking at industrial piercings and reading up on them. My mom said I could make an appointment and get it done the week of holiday break. As impatient as I am, I just wanted it done right away and didn't wanna make an appointment at some tattoo parlor. My friend got her belly button done at Lifestyles and said it was really clean there. Since we are at the Waterbury mall all the time, it would be convenient.

Last night my friends and I were at the mall, and my mom was gonna pick us up. (Yea we don't have our licenses yet.) I had her come into Lifestyles so I could get it done.

Jay was the one that did my friend's piercing earlier that month, so I felt pretty comfortable. He had us fill out the form, and then pay at the register. It was 50 dollars total. (30 for the piercing, 20 for the bar.) We all went in the back room. It was small, but pretty clean. They had an autoclave there, so you knew their stuff was serialized. I sat down in the dentist-like chair, and he marked my ear. I looked at it, but didn't really care, I just wanted it done.

I have a pretty high pain threshold, so I wasn't nervous at all. I think my friends were more nervous watching than I was getting it done. So then he did the first hole. And then the second. I didn't think it hurt at all. But then again, pain doesn't bother me. There was a little sort of a sting, but nothing more. I can understand how people thing the piercing takes "forever" and "hurts" cause getting the hollow needle through is harder then just a piercing gun.

He slipped the bar in and I didn't even feel it. I loved the way it looked!!! We gave him a nice tip, and then left. We still had some shopping to do, and met up with another friend. Then the piercing stared to feel hot and burn. Its normal, but man, I really waned an ice cube or something. The rest of the night it was pretty tender, and I was a little paranoid about people bumping it.

Sleeping stunk, cause normally I sleep on my left ear, and that's the side its on. (If it was my first piercing I would have gotten in on my right, but my cartilage is already done there, and I wanted to balance it out.)

I cleaned it before I went to bed and when I woke up with ear piercing cleaning stuff, and then I washed it good in the shower. Then I did a salt soak, cause that's what most places recommend for speedy healing.

It doesn't really hurt at all now, considering I just got it done last night. Only If I bump it, it kinda is uncomfortable cause its tender.

Overall I LOVE it!!! It looks so good and didn't hurt at all. Eventually I want to get another industrial piercing right below it, so it will be like a double industrial. I saw a picture of it online, and I think it looks sweet!! But I'll wait a while, till this one heals.

I definitely recommend someone to get it done. And if your worried about the pain, it only lasts a second, but you'll have a sweet looking piercing to show off!!!
