A Diary of a Small Stretch

I don't know when I was interested in piercings/stretching... I always wanted my ears pierced, and dreamed about other piercings like upper ear (cartilage), nose, eyebrow, bellybutton, the list goes on. For the longest time my mom refused to allow it, saying they're was infection, and she would just say no. After begging and begging, finally my mom began to cave. So in grade 8, when I was going to get my eyebrows waxed, my mom agreed to let me get my ears pierced. She didn't think I would have the guts to go through with it, and thought I would most likely bail. Now I know it's not wise to get pierced with a gun, or at a hair salon, but I was willing to take what I could get. So about fifteen minutes later, I was the proud owner of silver studs.

It went smooth, the cleaning, and the piercing, all of it. Shortly after a second hole, came into my mind. Realizing how unlikely it was for that to happen, I let it drift back out. Once the healing period was up I changed my earrings to a pair of hoops. As I slept the hoop slid into my ear making it at least a 16g. So like many, I thought "Hmmm I should stick a barbell in there..." I put in a pair 16g barbells, meant for a tongue ring. Shortly after I put the 16g and slide in a 14g pair of barbells. When those fit I decided to buy myself a pink pair of 14g hoops. I wore those for the longest time, and hadn't thought about going farther for a while.

So I had an art show, and brought my friend along, but before that we went to lunch. After we ate we went into a store, and saw so many pretty plugs and wooden earrings and decided I wanted to be able to wear those. So I bought 12g blue hoops and slide them in. Didn't hurt a bit. When I bought those, I also bought a pair of coconut earrings labeled 12g-8g. A little while after wearing the blue hoops, I tried shoving the coconut ones in. With a little bit of a pinch, they went in. My ears were sore for a few days...

After that, I thought I want to go bigger so I bought a pair of white silicone plugs. I knew they wouldn't fit, so I started to think about how I could make them fit. I started borrowed some earrings from a friend. It didn't make much difference. I found a plastic stick, cleaned it and showed it in. It made it a little bigger. I had a shower, then put my plugs on the counter, I trimmed the back edge so they could slide in easier. I got one in, it was a lil sore and red other then that it was fine. I put the blue stick in the other ear and left it.

The next day I showered and tried to get it in, I forced it in, there was a bit of blood, a little bit of pain, but nothing I couldn't handle so I shrugged it off. Over the next couple days it was scabby, pussing and probably infected. After a little bit of research I soon discovered I was the owner of a blow out. I put the smaller blue stick in right away, and used tea tree oil to clean the ear. I also massaged the lil blowout. I read up a lot on it, and to be honest got quite scared. I saw the pictures, read some stories and did everything I could to fix it. Eventually, with a little bit of luck it went back in, and I left the blue stick in it for a while. After it healed, I decided to put in a bigger black stick in it (I snapped of the end of a paintbrush). It slid in easily. A couple days later I borrowed some 6g machine head plugs from a friend. I showered, and they slid in with no problems.

I would not suggest doing what I did. Stretch SLOW, don't go forcing things in your ears, you do not want a blowout. Their terrible and you might not be as lucky as me and not get a scar. I would suggest talking to a pro before stretching and do tons of research, and know how you want to go approach it. Mine turned out great, and I know have pretty 6g lobes, but not all ears are the same. :]

While talking about my ears, I thought I would mention I recently got a second hole in my lobe done, and yet it again it was at a salon, but really it was my only choice. :[ They look nice, but are currently uneven due to how I stretched my first holes... Although my choice of earring has hid it well. :]

Happy Modding:]
