A little background about my helix piercing:

I had been wanting my helix for as long as I can remember but my parents never wanted me to have it..For what reason I still cant figure out but whatever..Probably about 3 months ago I was hanging out with some friends and my friend had just got her helix done and she had nothing but good things happen to her with it, no infections or nothing and she did it herself. Some of my friends told me that I should let her do it cause she did all theirs or whatever and all theirs seemed to be healing fine. It took me a few hours to decide whether it was going to be worth it. I had to take into consideration the pain that I was getting myself into and also going against my parents rules.

I finally decided that I really wanted it done and we went back to my friends house where she set up her stuff. I was defiantly thinking about backing out at this time for the fact that I am deathly afraid of needles!(I still don't know how I have gotten the piercings I have) Also I was kind of worried about how I was going to do anything because people that have had the piercing told me that it hurt to even touch it and you couldn't sleep on it or anything,BUT of course I wasn't going to chicken out that easy! I mean how bad could it be right? So as I was eating the pillow, incase I screamed or something the rents wouldn't come and see what was going on, it was over! I didn't even hear or feel the needle go through my ear, which could have been from the numbness of the ice and the chatting of the people that were with me!! After she got the earring in and she was finished it really started throbbing and swelled up!! I was now feeling the wonderful joys of this piercing and was not liking it at all..It started getting infected about a week after I had it done and I cleaned it really well and made sure to LEAVE IT ALONE and was more careful with it.. I would say that it hurt pretty bad for the first month that I had it which was more annoying than anything! My parents had eventually found out about it and they were not very happy about the whole thing but whatever they didn't make me take it out and I was happy!

I decided after almost 2 months of fighting with the stupid stud that I had started out with that I believed was the greatest thing ever, really sucked! So I went and found some nice horseshoe 16 gauge earrings and switched them out with no problems at all! Recently I had lost the stupid ball off the gauge and it fell out and I lost all the parts of it, so I grabbed one of my 14 gauges and used some lube to get it through which also went through with what I had thought no problems at all! I was wrong! I went to bed after cleaning it and woke up to it all red crusty and flaming hot! It was the worst pain I had ever felt and I have felt A LOT of pain during the 17 years of my life!!! I managed to move it enough to clean it a little and I went into the local piercing shop and asked what I should do. The guy told me to just leave it alone for a few days and not pick off the scabs(which I thought was weird but whatever) He gave me some strong cleaning solution and sent me on my way. So I decided to take his advice and cleaned it once a day and left it alone. That brings up to present day today which I'm still fighting with it but I'm pretty sure its getting better! It still hurts and its really annoying! I have considered taking it out too many times to remember but I'm still sticking with it for right now.

As for future body mods, I turn 18 in 3 months so I will hopefully be getting my tattoos and a few more piercings, including my vertical industrial I'm going to be getting do PROFESSIONALLY for my 18th birthday present! Ill keep updating everyone that reads!! Thanks!!

Also I would just like to say that I would NOT recommend rushing any piercing and having ALL piercings done by a professional! Its so not worth the pain and inconvenience DIY piercings cause! There is also a lot of risk involved with stretching too fast and can end up costing you a lot of money from infections that need to be treated professionally!

And most important of all... HAVE FUN and GOOD LUCK with your mods!!!
