Well, to start off I'm not one that is new to the whole "body modification" process. I've had several piercings and three tattoos so far to date. I am a person with a decent amount of pain tolerance. I am always itching to get something new done. Even though work does tend to keep me from doing as much as I'd like to. Let me get to the point. I decided Wednesday that I was going to go in and get a few new piercings even if my boss would probably not be happy. I figure there is no written rules in the handbook on body piercings and I'm already a regular full time person so he cannot fire me due to piercings, otherwise that would be discrimination. So anyway back on subject. I decided I would get my daith done first. So I contacted Jerry through MySpace to see if he would even be available. Jerry is a very, very busy artist. Also very talented I might add. So I got a hold of Jerry, and it turns out he has one free hour from 8pm-9pm on Thursday. So I then decided that Thursday night would be my fate to get stabbed once again.
At A Glance Author Shelia Contact Shelia@bme.anon When It just happened Artist Jerry McPherson Studio Pleasurable Pain Location Quincy,IL I tried to wait patiently all day Thursday, me being the impatient person that I am this was very hard for me. I was very excited to actually be able to afford to go have some work done. So as soon as I got off work I prepared to head off to Quincy. I arrived at the shop just shortly after 8pm. When I got there it was dead like planned on. So I went in there and started to fill out paper work with Jerry's secretary and said a few brief words to Jerry since it did look like he was busy. My fiancé went with me in this adventure and actually was also getting pierced also. So after we got done filling out the paper work, I watched Jerry's secretary get out all the necessary tools for Jerry while he cleaned up and pulled his hair up. Once again I had to wait patiently because my finance was going to get pierced before me. So I went down and got a soda and watched and waited. I'm not the type that gets overly nervous before piercings, but I will have to admit that the thought of me getting stabbed 4 times in one night did have me a little bit. It's not that I worry about pain, because pain is not an issue. It's just I the paranoid type that worries about something going wrong. See I know I should never have any worries when Jerry is piercing or tatting on me, because Jerry is a much respected artist and by the book. No matter how many times I've went to see him or how many piercings I get in one setting he keeps every individual one professional.
Well after my fiancé finally got done with his two piercings it was my turn. Jerry cleaned up after getting done with Aaron and went back to his other chair and started to get everything ready for me. Jerry sat me down in his back chair since I would be getting my nipples done so he could shut the curtains. Well I plop down in the chair not really too nervous. Jerry started to go through all the spiels of how everything is sterile and in packages and so on. Just the typical piercing procedure. I've heard this plenty of times and could just about quote what he says on this. Well now for the actually piercing. Jerry marked it for me very carefully and made sure I was 100 % ok with the placement and liked where it would be. Well I've heard that the daith is an uncomfortable piercings, which I find funny, because honestly what piercing is comfortable. Well Jerry clamped me and did the whole spiel of take a deep breath in. While taking the deep breath in he lines up the needle and as you let the breath out he pushes the needle swiftly through. In all honestly the daith did not hurt hardly it all, if I had to describe it, it's less than a pinch of pain. Jerry got me the mirror and let me look at it. Of course I was fully happy with its placement and so on.
I would have to say to anyone in the Quincy,IL area to go to Jerry. For one he is a very respected and professional artist. The best in our area and not to add that he owns the longest running shop in the area. Jerry's prices are also unbeatable. I dare you to find another true artist with as good as prices as his.
