For me I feel in love with the industrial the first time I saw it. I then decided I definitely want one. Although I thought it was maybe just a phase and after a while I wouldn't like it any more, so I decided to wait. A year later I still was in love and although there was other piercings I thought that the industrial would be the best cause it would be easier to get away with at work.

I researched it a little bit and saw how it was a pretty safe piercing to get and not much could go wrong. Although I did see a few things that could go wrong I was sure it would be fine

Still being 17, not old enough to get without parent signature, I asked my mom if I could get it since I would need her to sign. I showed her what it was, how it looked and although she didn't really like it she said I could get it anyway. I knew of a few tattoo shops around but most never seem busy and not very clean. I wanted to find a good place so my mom would approve so I looked online and found one nearby, which looked very clean. I showed the place to my mom, who at first thought it could be pierced at the mall with a gun, I then explained to her how I had read it was best to use needles and that this place seemed clean. Since before she said I could get it she agreed if it can't be done any where else that it seemed like the best tattoo shop around, which she realized after I showed her the pictures on their site.

About a week later we finally went to the place, I was very excited although my mom was still a little bit nervous. Everything at the shop looked good so we went ahead with it. The cost was $70 including some aftercare product called Dr. Piercing. Being so excited I didn't even care how much it was and just paid the price and signed the sheet. The guy scanned both of our licenses to make sure she was actually my mom. He told us the wait would be about 10 minutes while they sterilized the jewelry and needle. So we went to the next room and started waiting. I was very excited but my mom was still nervous asking me all sorts of questions.

It was finally time, the guy called me up and I sat down in the chair. He asked me what ear I wanted and told me how sleeping would be hard so it was best to choose the side that you don't sleep on. I could see everything in its package which I thought was good. He then realized I had really small ears so he held the barbell up to my ear figuring the best placement. Since my ears being smaller he mad it more vertical, which was fine with me. Then he marked my ears and asked me if I was nervous, which of course how could I be nervous I was still way to excited. He cleaned off my ear, got the clamps and pushed the needle through the first whole, and then he stuck the barbell through that part. Then he did the same for the second hole and twisted on the ball. I didn't think it hurt at all at the time and even my mom was surprised I didn't cringe at all.

I finally got to see how it looked and of course I loved it. He told me the aftercare instructions. Don't over clean it and how it will be a pain for about the next 2 months and also said it takes the longest out of all piercings to heal. Then he gave me a card with things not to do and asked if I had any questions. Of Course at the time I couldn't think of any so I went over to show my mom. We then left the shop and went home. On the way home my mom kept looking at it and actually started to like it. My mom after wanting to look at it a billion times that day now loves it and wishes she could get one. Although the piercing it self didn't hurt at all it now hurts a little after sleeping on it some. Now a week later it still hurts some but I can definitely notice the decrease in pain and redness. I continue to clean it twice a day and am excited for it to heal so I can change the jewelry. Overall I love this piercing and would definitely do it if you're thinking about it.
