I'd say I'm pretty addicted to my piercings, and usually go through phases of getting as many as I can til I'm broke, waiting awhile, then going back for more. This situation was no different. My first piercing of this year was my tragis which I'd been wanting for at least a year, but was way to freaked to get cause I was scared it would hurt like hell. The day I got it I was actually wanting to get my first tattoo, but since I'm a couple months shy of my 18th birthday they wouldn't do it due to insurance reasons. I was pretty disappointed, but didn't want to go home without anything interesint to show for it, so I decided my tragis would be the one to get a hole poked into it. So, swallowing my nervousness I told them I'd get my tragis done instead. In actuality, I'd been worrying for nothing. But this is about my daith, and it goes sorta like this.

I chose Adrenaline cause I like to get pierced there cause the people are friendly and knowledgable, the shop has a cool atmosphere and everyone's totally laid back. They also do a great job, and sterilize EVERYTHING as well as do multiple glove changes, and everythings opened from new packages so I feel totally sure that everyhting's nice and clean, which is important to me and I feel it should be so in any piercing shop. So after getting my tragis pierced last Friday, I decided it looked a little lonely. After deciding I wanted something a little more uncommon than a helix or something and after a but of research on BME, I decided I had my heart set on getting my daith done. But I didn't want it in the normal spot, I wanted it a little higher up so it wasn't really set inside my ear, more like directly above my tragis. The guy I talked to was enthusiastic about it, as were some of the other staff at the shop ('Who's getting the daith? You are? sweet!) I was stoked. I was debating on whether to do my right ear with my already done tragis, or to do the left side to kind of even things out.I was totally surprised when my tragis honestly didn't hurt at all, less than any of my lobe piercings or my belly, but was expecting a little more with my daith.

So after waiting for 20 mins and talking with some people in the shop and browsing through the clothes, they were finally ready for me. My ear was still a little tender from my tragis(3 days done before), and I'd say the most painful part of it was when the piercer sort of bumped that piercing. She showed me where the earring would hang on my ear, (normal CBR) and after a little bit of wiggling it was where I wanted it. She got me to lie down, and cleaned my ear off with the usual. I grabbed my friend's hand(I always gotta have someone's hand to hold, even if it doesn't hurt) she told me to take the usual deep breath, then when I blew it out she would put the needle in like usual. She then pushed the needle in, and then sort of repositioned to get a better angle. So far totally no pain, and I was just talking to my friend to keep my mind off it. I was expecting more pain when she went to push the needle in, but it didn't come at all. Is it done? I was asking, cause I can never tell when they're finished. At this point my friend was laughing ('You've got a needle through your ear!!!') She put the needle into the other end of the needle, and then she pushed the jewellery in. A little pressure, but really no pain. Then she gave it a final cleaning, and told me 'All done!'. I looked at the mirror and like so many others, totally fell in love with it. It looks fabulous above my tregis, and I can't wait to get my other ear done to match!

Afterwards when I got home I soaked it with sea salt and hot water, as I find this keeps swelling down. It didn't hurt the next day, just I found it a bit sore if I smiled big or laughed the same day, but otherwise, all good! I just gotta keep remembering not to answer the phone with my right ear. It's an awesome piercing that I haven't seen before this website, and looks great and I've gotten tons of compliments about it. It cost me about $55, 35 for the piercing and 25 for the jewellery. It took less than 5 minutes for the piercing, and has been healing up really well. If you're thinking about it, I'd say totally go for it. If you have any questions feel free to email. Now I just gotta wait those couple months til I can get my tattoo!
