Hey! I'm fourteen and have finally got a piercing worth being proud of!

I hadn't really ever thought about getting anything other than my lobes pierced, but when I went on holiday and saw a young woman with her tragus done, I instantly fell in love with it. I couldn't ask my mum for it for a week, but every time I thought about the piercing I just knew I had to! As soon as I got home from my holiday I got on the phone to my mum and began the begging, I had to get it done! I HAD to! She said no so many times, but each time I could tell she was weakening, I showed her pictures of it from bmezine, and told her about how it was done, and eventually after a week, she agreed to take me to get it done.

I chose to get it done at Salamanders in derby, because it's the only place I know that actually has a good reputation, and my ex boyfriend had gone there to get his lip pierced and always said it was a nice place. He was right, the people in there were surprisingly nice, and made me feel seriously calm. My mum had to go with me, because I'm only 14, and she had to fill out a form. Once that was done she asked me if I wanted a bar or a ring, first I said bar, but she told me that I should go for a bar first and get the ring later on. So I got the bar instead.

I had to wait around ten minutes before I could go into the piercer's room, but I was completely calm and wasn't fazed by the long wait. When I went into the piercer's room, I was glad to see that there wasn't any scary looking equipment lying around, there was only a chair, bed thingy, and a wheely cupboard thing.

The guy that pierced me, Luke, was really nice, he told me to sit down, and asked to see my tragus; he even said that it was a beautiful tragus, cos it's all big. =/

He then put some gloves on and put a dot on my tragus and asked if it was ok. I said it was and he then put this freezey stuff on my ear (this was the worst part for me, cos it was so cold) he sprayed for ages, and then put a clamp on it. This sort of hurt, but in a nice kind of way, it was like hard pressure, like someone pinching your ear. Then he got the needle and gently poked it through. Sadly, I heard no pop, no crunch, nothing. =[ He then went and got the bar and put it in. This didn't hurt at all, and before I knew it, he was passing me a mirror to look at it.

I fell in love right there. It was so beautiful! I thanked Luke and quickly went out of the room, to show my mum, I was beaming, but apparently I was very pale. Me and mum then went to Superdrug to get some savlon wound wash, and some q-tips I got myself some coke as well, because of the sugar in it. I started to feel a bit faint and needed to sit down as quickly as possible. We quickly paid and left to go to the car. My head was spinning at this point and my legs felt like shit. As soon as I sat down my throbbing head subsided and I felt so much better.

On the way home I kept looking at my ear in admiration. I was so proud of myself for getting it done; I'm usually too frightened to do anything like that. I couldn't wait to get home and tell all of my friends about it. When I did tell them, they were so surprised and loved it too. =]

The after care is pretty simple, clean it with wound wash, I do it three times a day, and I also follow the LITHA advice. I don't touch it unless I'm cleaning it. And when I do, my hands are clean.

Warning though, listening to music, is very hard!! And it hurts like hell when you knock the piercing with an earphone (sadly I found out the hard way that night when I tried to listen to some Paramore)

I gotta say, GET IT DONE. Best piercing ever!! Painless (kinda) and it looks so cute!!!!

Two weeks later and my tragus still looks awesome, hopefully I'm going to get a ring in it before my next holiday, so then I will be completely happy with it!

Anyways, I'll leave it there then.

Get it done! Its a must have piercing!!

Plus its easily hideable if your still in school, thank god!

Anyway

Happy Piercing!

xxxxxx
