A couple of years ago I went to a camp in BC. I met this girl who had her industrial done and I instantly liked it. I had never seen that piercing before and thought it was pretty original. The couple weeks went on and I liked it more and more and I wanted to get it when I got back to my town.

When I did get back I didn't think about getting it anymore. I did see people around school that had it done and I still wanted to get it... but eventually. I got my nose pierced and my tragus but I didn't think about the industrial very much. Then I saw it on someone waiting in line for something. I decided then it was time to get it over with.

My friend wanted to get her belly button pierced so we decided to do it at the same time. I called up Daniel who did my tattoos and I made in appointment for Tuesday at 4pm. The time was set.

That Tuesday, I was getting really nervous. My friend was really stewing over her belly button so I forced the nerves out of me to help her cope. I got her pretty relaxed and I told her the navel didn't hurt. I had gotten it a couple summers before and mine was no problem. We spent the day in a water park trying to not think about the upcoming pain we were going to go through.

Finally 3:30 came. My boyfriend and her boyfriend both came for moral support and kept us laughing during the ride there.

When we got in the studio I was feeling really nervous then and was blubbering to everyone about random things. I didn't know what I was saying. My boyfriend Jesse just laughed at me and told me to calm down. Daniel's coworker called us both back and said we were going at the same time. My friend and I both looked at each other and gulped. We had made a plan that I was going first and then she would go.

But none the less it was going to get done. So I sat in the chair Daniel told me to sit in.

I watched him take out the packages. One was a needle the other was the barbell. He had sterilized the table and put paper towel down. He put a gel on the paper towel and took out the needle. He dipped the needle in the gel and left it. Now it was time for the bar. He took it out of the package, unscrewed the balls and set it down. Then he took a pen and marked my ears where he would pierce. I asked if I could look at them and he said ok. I liked where they were and it calmed me down to see where the bar where soon be.

I sat down again and Daniel picked up the needle and said here we go. He did the top hole first I think. It hurt alot!!! My eyes teared up and I was shaking. He got the bar through the first one and then asked me if I'd like a minute to calm down. At that moment I seriously wanted to stand up and run away. I didn't want to go through it again. But I said no, I had wanted it too long. The second hole hurt twice as much! And by the end I was really crying. I kept asking him if it was over and he kept saying just a bit more. Finally the bar was in and he just needed to wipe off the blood

After what felt like ages of him touching my ear with a tissue it was okay for me to stand up. I went to the mirror and I saw the bar. And I loved it. Though it hurt a lot it looked really good!!

I then paid and got the aftercare instructions. Jesse looked at it and said he liked it a lot, more then he thought he would. We then got up and left, I felt a bit dizzy walking around but after that it was ok. When I got home I took some Tylenol which helped with the pain. Sleeping on it was no problem and

it is now the next day and it's not red at all. I had a shower and cleaned it with soap. I can now move the bar back and forth and it looks awesome.

It hurts to touch and I know it won't heal for awhile but I love it. I have had my belly button, my tragus, my nose, and my cartilidge pierced but my industrial is my favourite so far! I think I'm done now but who knows? Maybe i'll find another piercing I really like:)

And for all those who want to get it done.. It does hurt. Alot! But if you do want it go for it. The results afterward is awesome.
