To be blunt, I love piercings. The weirder the better.
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When It just happened At the moment, I have 8 piercings. Helix, Rook, 5 lobes (3 on right ear, 2 on left). My latest piercing was the 3rd lobe on my right ear, since it's kinda boring, with my left ear having helix, rook & 2 lobes. The problem is, I get bored with my piercings (as much as I love them) if I don't have one to look after, also my right ear is still pretty empty. This is when I started to browse bmezine for a new piercing.
To be honest I have a look around bmezine galleries quite often, looking at tattoos, piercings, experiences, just to pass time and to see what I COULD get.
Well, my birthday was the other week, and my mum said I could get a tattoo (a green and black nautical star on my left thumb), but that's another story. I thought this would be a brilliant time to see if I could get another piercing.
After looking through bmezine ear piercings, since my mum won't let me have any facial piercings, I ended up with 2 options. Tragus or Conch. With this in mind, I went to school for the following week, going round, asking what people would prefer. A lot of the people who said tragus only said it because they wanted to see how much it hurts, or as my friend Holly put it, she'd rather tragus than a massive icky hole in the back of my ear.
When it got to Saturday, which is when I usually go up my grans with my mother dearest. Suck up time for piercings I thought, since she thinks I've had enough already. Luckily, we were running late for the bus so my mum didn't have time to go to the shop before getting on the bus. Therefore needing to go to the shop before we went to my grans. I used this longer walk to my advantage, I asked my mum about it. "Hmm, where?" Showed her... "Errghhh!" Surprisingly enough, she said yes to either, and that I could get either done when I go for my tattoo, which would be Saturday next week. Since I was asking people at school which one they'd prefer, I thought I'd ask my mum too. Accompanied by another "Errghhh!", she said she wouldn't like either, but if she had to pick, Conch. At that moment in time the votes were at 20 - 16 to Conch.
When I did persuade my mum to go downtown with me on the Saturday, since she really didn't want to go that week, the piercer wasn't there! He'd gone off on holiday or something, and the two trainees there could only do piercings with the gun. This annoyed my mum more, since we went downtown for the piercing + to get papers for my Grandparents, and we left only getting the papers.
2 weeks later, due to this delay, my mum promised to go down this week. I'd already decided that I wanted conch when we went downtown before, and I stuck with my decision. Saturday came.. To be honest, I was crapping myself since my rook hurt like hell for weeks, but healed fine..Thank god. Got ready, got on the bus, went downtown and made our way to Monster Shop. There was quite a few more people than usual hanging around Monster Shop, but since I only wanted a piercing I could push to the front of the queue, woot. I had to wait for the guy infront of me to finish booking a tattoo, then it was my turn.
The trainee asked what I wanted done, confirmed with Paul, the piercer, who was currently finishing some guys skull tattoo (which looked pretty cool!). Took a few minutes to find the jewellry, a labret bar, can't remember the measurements.. They asked me to sit down, and asked if I preferred the bigger or smaller ball on the bar, I picked the bigger one since I had the same jewellry with the smaller ball in my rook and it was a pain in the arse to take out and put back in, I ended up loosing the ball. Paul put a dot where he was going to pierce, got a mirror and asked me if it was okay, which it was. Right, here we go, I thought... He got the needle out, rested it on the dot he'd previous put, and put the needle straight through. OUCH. I actually said it too. He put the bar through, put the ball on and tightened it, which was a bit awkward, and hurt a bit. I got up, woah I felt light-headed.. The trainee asked Paul how much it was, £25, I got the money off my mum, paid, and we left!
I explained what happened, in detail of course, to my mum. Which made her cringe. Heh. I spent the journey home complaining about it hurting, since the bus kept jolting.
Hasn't been bleeding yet, to my knowledge. None of my piercings seem to bleed.. Which is a good thing I suppose. Hurts when I pull some facial expressions, and sometimes when I chew. That's about it. Probably start hurting like hell in the morning after I've been to sleep, since I'll probably roll over in my sleep onto it..
But the pain's worth it in my opinion, like my rook. Hurt like hell for a few weeks, but totally worth it.
