OK, when I was about 9, I had my ears pierced...gunned to be precise. I know, I know, naught me, bad girl, slap on wrist etc...I was nine, I had no clue it was bad. Anyway, I digress...

So I started looking at labret studs, ball closure rings etc., as the earrings section didn't really interest me to be honest. And, I liked the idea of wearing labret studs or BCRs, because then I could just change the balls instead of the whole earring...so probably cheaper in the long run, not to mention better for my ears. Butterfly studs are inventions of Satan...I don't even believe in Satan, but that is really not the point.
So after looking around the forums for a bit, I discovered, shock horror, that gun piercings are bad...and that my ears are likely to be only a 0.8 or 1mm gauge. Meaning that I couldn't wear almost all of the nice, new, exciting things on BJS. Not really what I wanted to hear, but that's life.
So after doing a bit more research, I finally realized the solution...stretch my ears! Simple...rather like me actually.
Then, I had to actually wait until I had the money, time, and well, the bravery, to make a BJS order. So I got round to it at last on Tuesday, and made my Mum ring through to pay for it all. I ordered a steel crescent, the UFO labret studs, and four other pairs of threaded balls, hoping that I could just stretch my ears and have the new stuff ready just in time for my trip to Holland next week. Ooooh, and I bought some saline solution and Stargazer pink eyeliner...very nice colour actually, and easy to apply. That's beside the point though. I ramble far too much.
Still here? You're a brave person then, for reading through my rambley stuff...rather like Kevin Turvey actually. Anyway, this morning, the post actually arrived rather early for once...so, all excited, I rushed out and sure enough, the postman held out a form for me to sign. All excited to of received my package, I ran back inside [and I never EVER run anywhere if I can possibly avoid it], tore it open, and laid it all out on my bed to check over and stare in loving admiration at. Okay, that over and done with, I picked up the crescent and lube I had found in the bathroom, and thought to myself "okay, ten minutes before I have to leave, so just slip the crescent through quickly, won't take a minute, then I'll of stretched my ear piercings and be off to school. Simple". Actually, and not for the first time, I was wrong. Quick, easy, painless? Don't make me laugh. Getting the crescent into my right ear took a lot longer than expected, and was actually really rather painful...it took quite some time to push it through. I didn't have enough time to then remove it and put the jewellery in...I tried, but the stud refused point blank to go through, and it hurt like hell, so I left it and went to school.
The whole day, all I could think about was getting home, and doing my other ear...I was quite ridiculously excited about it actually. My right ear lobe was sore, but stopped hurting really after about 10p.m...except when I fiddled with it. Which I really shouldn't do, so I'm trying to stop.
When I arrived back home, straight to my room, lubed-up stud in my freshly washed hands, and crescent pulled out. Then came the hard bit...the fight with the stud to get it through my ear. It was the little threaded but that actually hurt, but I survived it, screwed on the little ball, and I had done it. I officially had a stretched ear piercing...even if it was only at 1.6mm.
Then, before I lost my nerve, I grabbed my crescent, cleaned it with saline solution, lubed it up, and pushed it through my left ear piercing. Not as painful as the first, so it seems I had learnt SOMETHING, even if I had no clue what it was.
Anyway, that only stayed in for about half an hour before I took it out and out in the second labret stud, at about 4pm. That one hurt more...it's definitely more painful than my right at the moment, though it is bearable...my right one now only hurts when I fiddle with it...something I really should stop doing.
All in all, I'll give it to you in a nutshell...with some pain, and rather a lot of excitement, I stretched both my lobe piercings from a standard gun to 1.6mm. Which I'm really rather pleased about...so now, I'm looking forward to the next stretch!
