Once upon A time I was looking through Photobucket.com for pictures of one of my favorite actress', Cassie Steele. I came upon a picture of her with her ear visible, and this oddly attractive looking piercing, The Basic Industrial.

I immediately wanted this piercing!! I saw that picture of Cassie Steele about 1-2 years before I could actually get it (Parental advisory). I don't think my mom wanted me to get it, but I convinced her. My cousin and her friend already have it and they said it was one of the worst piercings they have ever gotten, and they would never ever get it again, but it was completely worth the pain. I read stories on Google, Yahooanswers.com and BMEZINE.com saying the same thing. I didn't care though, I was determined to get it.
On February 25th 2007, My cousin came over my house to celebrate my brothers birthday, we went to BMEZINE.com and then she told me how much she wanted her tongue ring and she was going to get it on Monday because it was to late to get it that day. I told her how I wanted to get the industrial and she offered to come with me to get it, I accepted. The day I was going to get my industrial is coming!
Monday is here! I go over to my cousins house and we plan that she will get her tongue ring first. We go down to a piercing store near my house and she gets it done (but recently took it out because of her fathers unapproval.) we went to McDonalds to get some Ice for her and that's when I realized, "Oh snap, I'm really getting it done!". We rode of in the train with my nervously biting my nails and feeling nauseous. We got off in St. Marks and looked for the place to get it done.
We go into the store and tell him what I want. I sit down on the piercing stool and breathed in & out (note; doesn't work! ha.) I was so nervous, and the stories that I read about how much it hurt just ran through my head and I was so unready for this. This girl stranger is watching as well as my newly pierced cousin, so that also added pressure. I felt the clamp on my ear and closed my eyes and BOOM. The needle went it, and I for sure felt it, I thought he was done so I asked my cousin, "Phew! That's it?" unfortunately, the answer was no. I still had one to go, but I swear I felt it go in twice! Few seconds later, another BOOM.
The next day at school I showed it off and got the funniest reactions, such as "Ew, thats so goth." to "Oh my gosh, I love it!" and of course the infamous "Did it hurt?" Which my answer is always truthful, Definitely!
That had to be the worst piercing someone can get, seriously. I felt no pain except the needles until the night time when I tried to sleep, even on the side I didn't get it on. Three months later and a few other piercing's later and I still can't sleep on it. During school, I would get hit in the ears coincidencely with balls or people would "accidently hit it.". About one week after I got it, Somebody hit me in my ear and I felt like I got electreocuted and recently I was standing next to a slide and someone accidently kicked me while going down, It had to be the worst pain ever! Currently, I get the more, "Oh my gosh, did that hurt?" and "You're brave" or "You're crazy!" then "Ew!" . I would never get the industrial again (If it closed, or pulled out. God forbid!) and I'm not so sure It was worth it, but I still love it and I love the reactions I get from it.
Occassionaly, It itches and hurts but I would never take it out. It's very hard to sleep on unless you put your hand down on it which causes breakouts on the side of your face where the piercing is. I'm known at school for the girl with a lot of piercings (I only have 7! My lobes, double lobe, Helix, Industrial and my newest edition, my nose!) or the girl with the pole in her ear. I love it. Everybody says it makes my ear stand out more and makes me more unique and I love all the attention its gets. A lot of people want to see what It looks like without my ear or want to play with it.
Sorry its so long!! (and thanks a lot to those who read the whole thing!)
