I have always been facisnated by piercings. So around September of last year, I got my ears pierced for the fist time. About a month later, I had them pierced a second time. I felt like such a newbie, almost everyone had 4 lobe piercings. I wanted something else. However, I do not have the face for facial piercings, and I dont have the guts to go for anything below the neck. I considered my industrial, no. Possibly a helix? Not too original. I wanted something that a lot of people did not have. I decided on a tragus piercing. From the moment I saw it a few years ago, I fell in love with it. It was so cute! I just had to have it.

A few weeks later, I was showering before I went out with a friend of mine. I decided, as I was lathering up my hair, that I wanted that tragus piercing tonight. My mind had been made up. So I picked up my friend, and off we headed to Panama's.

I had been to Panama's many times before. Friends had piercings and tattoos there, and I had my ears pierced there as well. I am not a fan of the piercing gun at all. I walked in and and the lady at the front desk asked if I needed any help. I told her that I wanted a tragus piercing. I gave her my I.D. and credit card. I looked up at the sign above the door, a tragus cost $40.00. Not as bad as I thought it would be. The lady then asked me what color CBR I wanted. I chose a small blue one. I figured it would match the color of my eyes. This, after all, was a special piercing and deserved a special color. She instructed me to the back room, where my piercer, panama, was waiting for me.

As my friend and I walked into the room, my ears were filled with the sound of tattoo guns being cleaned, and Guns N' Roses on the stereo. Good choice I thought as I sat down in the black dentist looking chair. My piercer asked which side I wanted the piercing, I said the left side. It just seemed like it belonged there. We made some small talk. He cleaned, marked, and clamped the tragus. Now I have heard many time that a clamp hurts, or is uncomfortable. I did not mind it much at all actually. There was no count to 3 and breath, he just told me he was going to push the needle in. I was expecting a sensation near to being hit in the head with a hammer. I felt nothing, some pressure, and a slight crunch feeling. Piercing my lobes was worse than this. He then went on the insert the jewellery, which was quick and painless. He did tug on it a little, and pull around. I guess to get the ball in. My friend was sitting in the back of the room watching as it all happened. Panama was talking to some old biker looking man who I suppose was going to be the next piercer at the shop. He watched everything panama did.He put a bit of cotton in my ear canal so that the ball wouldn't fall in my ear. I Took the pliars and snapped the ball into place. He cleaned up the area a little, and told me to go check out the piercing. That was it? Seriously? That was nothing. I went to the mirror to see it, it looked fabulous. I thanked him and walked put the door. I felt a bit light headed walking to my car. My friend kept looking at it telling me it was cool. There was some pressure there, that's for sure. Not too bad. Like an achy pressure feeling. Not bad at all. It looked cute. And I fell in love with it. That night I cleaned it,using bactine and q-tips, which was slightly painful to do. It hurt to move it up or down or side to side. It took me a while. I couldnt see the rear hole so I couldn't tell if I had gotten it as clean as I wanted to.

The next two days after that, the whole left side of my face was killing me. If feels as if someone has punched me in the side of the head. It's an awesome piercing. I can't wait until it heals. I suggest anyone who wants this piercing, go do it. It doesnt hurt to get it done, and there will be some pain for a few days afterwards. In the end, I hope, it will heal and look gorgeous. I clean it 2-3 times a day with bactine, using q-tips. Keep the crusties and dried blood. Im careful when I sleep, keep my pillow cases clean, and keep my hear away from it. Over all, I see it healing up in the next month or 2. Hopefully there will be no trouble. It's the first real piercing I have ever gotten. Im so very proud of it. I absolutely love it! Id love to get more. I've considered my rook or daith for the other ear next time i go. Once that piercing bug bites you, you can not get away!
